what's that got to do with it you plank! LOOKS LIKE HE WAS ASSAULTED IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE , maybe the jury was cherry picked ???

The CPS royally f*cked up by not allowing an assault charge as well, which Harwood would almost certainly have been convicted of in the absence of a manslaughter conviction.

Can he not be charged with assault ? I understand you can't be tried twice for the same offence, but why not a lesser charge of GBH/assault ?

An assault charge has to be brought within 6 months of the [alleged] offence - and it took the CPS far longer than that to come to any form of decision.

In London village.
Imagine if someone in a Millwall shirt had clobbered a policeman on film who died half an hour later. How many years inside do you think he'd get?

Indeed. 15 years minimum I'd guess.

Unbelievable. Actually, no, par for the course; entirely believable and predictable.

The police are literally are a law unto themselves.

I know some individual coppers are decent (our very own Edna K. for example), but as an institution, I can't respect or trust them; they seem to get away with far too many things that the rest of us would (rightly) be locked-up for.

This decision disgusts me, but, sadly, it doesn't surprise me.:angry::angry:

This. The old bill are a bunch of complete and utter c**nts and I don't trust them as far as I can spit. I was had up in court many years ago for a breach of the peace arrested by no less than a Chief Inspector. I was found not guilty after he lied through his back teeth in court. My solicitor tore him to shreds and he showed him up for the complete and utter lying cock that he was. My first ever brush with the law and never trusted them since. Wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire!!!
