Activities - how the charity spends its money​

Recent activities include the development and regeneration of the root end of the West Pier through the BAi360 project which includes a strong heritage dimension, opening the West Pier Centre, securing of major artefacts removed from the sea-based pier and working closely with the City Council on the options for the future of the sea-based pier.

So "securing of artefacts". Nothing there about flogging off of artefacts.

I worked the opening day, and it was quite clear then the business plan was incredibly flawed. Paid me quite well mind, but it was a bit of a car crash opening. Doesn't surprise me that this has happened, fun place to work down there, made lots of friends (who I think have all now left), and there was always some entertaining nut job hanging around that part of the beach. I used to take the piss a lot there really, and probably did about 60% of my shifts hungover, and in the world's worst name drop, I served Conor Coady in there once. Shame for the workers that they have such uncertainty before Christmas. Only Greggs to go under now and it'll be a clean sweep of my former employers, having been in administration.

The objective of preserving the “benefit area” made me chuckle. So, sticking a 100m cigarette in the air next to a Grade 1 listed derelict structure is really going to preserve the “benefit area”.

If you look at the "Who we are page", they're either businessmen or ex-politicians (who more often than not are also quite into business..).

Not a single word about anyone having anything to do with history, cultural preservation or anything else related to what their supposed to do ("inform and eductate about this old pier").

When they sell the artifacts they're supposed to preserve, you might wonder what the purpose is. The real purpose.

I do like a quick audit of charity financial statements from the charity commission website.

Fact Check:

Last years accounts show that the trust spent £69,130 on 1.4 roles. CEO and Business Manager. This figure includes employer NI but there is no pension scheme.

If she has been receiving £70k a year ‘for decades’ she is not now.
