If there wasn't a reason, then it wouldn't be done would it, or are you an expert on sportsturf?
I'm an expert in hurting myself on many different surfaces, if that counts? I can diagnose what type of ground caused an injury. For example, I can tell the difference between sand covered astroturf and a 3G surface. That's just experience, though.
On wednesday night, the sprinklers were out in force again, despite the massive rain fall earlier in the day. I understand Gus wants the pitch slick so the passing football works but seriously, it's being overwatered and it has caused injuries already. The moulded studs a lot of the players wear doesn't help either, and I'm not saying it is the fault of just the pitch being overwatered. But it's not helped.
