If he goes at the end of this season we’ll have had two years from him. The only time he’s managed a club longer is when he was at Sassuolo for three seasons.
I think he needs the thrill of chasing for cups, titles etc and where we are at, this isn’t going to do it for him.
I’d prefer a fully fired up, ambitious and successful manager than a downbeat and miserable Roberto.
I think the only chance we have of keeping him is if Pep decides to go at the end of next season and Roberto is targeted as his successor. In that scenario I think he would potentially stay with the view to taking over then.
We’d be a very attractive club for an upwardly mobile manager. Francesco Farioli as an example.

If he leaves at the end of the season you would assume that's because we've had a really successful season, a Europa League title or top 6 for example. And we'll have little trouble attracting another up and coming manager based on that and our last two managers heading off to big clubs

Yeah - TB and PB did not look happy at all today - they probably realise the squad is not deep enough with all these injuries out so it’s a real dilemma.

The problem is, we have no money other than what we owe TB. I think we owe him around 400 million to date - not that he would ever ask for it back but PB’s long term goal is to stop going cap in hand to Tony and make the club pay for itself by recruiting cheap and selling high.

Also as we know, its not just a case of saying ok we’ll spend £100 million on players in the summer if RDZ stays - we need to find those players who are exactly right for us - the bigger the initial spend, the more risk to us financially if they turn out to be duds.

It's not sheer luck though. If a team parks the bus against us , by definition they will have less possession and less shots on target than us , but probably better quality chances when they hit us on the break.

But a time comes when we need to analyse the relationship and I don’t think we should be breaking any budgets to rival top 4 and Europes elite when we are operating with a squad that realistically should be 12-15 in the PL.

I hope he stays but only if he wants to be here. Otherwise I’d rather have someone else. Recent performances have suggested a level of complacency. Like, I’m not sure what we’re playing for atm. The wolves defeat was such a huge opportunity missed, and the manner we went out was so predictably boring I nearly slipped in to a coma. So predictable it felt avoidable, yet it happened.

Its interesting, this idea of complacency. That he's somehow jaded because he's been there and done that and Tony and Paul are annoyed with his manner.
I'm not sure about it. There's an argument to say this is by some distance the the best opportunity he's ever had. With a really stable club and really competent serious players. But, despite being someone who likes to project total control and confidence, i wonder if hes just as insecure and fallible as anyone else.

Like young Evan he's had tons of positive press, and loads of individual talent but has made plenty of mistakes and missteps under pressure. He's given international seminars on coaching at what? 43. Almost entirely off the back of his 3/4 season with us and with not much in the trophy cabinet. I wonder whether it gets to him a bit.

The sheer randomness of the rotation policy and incessant changes might point towards indecisiveness and procrastination rather rhan arrogance or being jaded. Weve had loads of games where loads of 'brave' substitutions ended up with us being a shapeless mess.

Its only my working hypothesis but I sometimes think his mixed messages are not really Machiavellian bloke looking for a big move, but a normal, slightly macho bloke, worried about what would happen if he blows his big chance while everyone is watching.

Nothing to do with club policy, last summer we failed to replace 3 midfielders,
the club didn’t do enough business , which is why we are struggling now and RDZ is probably a bit pissed off
