I'm Ex Royal Navy and had my son next to me and he has been back from Afghan a month or and I couldn't look at my boy or the pitch or anything
Total emotional mess for the whole ceremony, and nothing but admiration for his family and girlfriend

Wobbled but held it together, not.................? Football is just so irrelevant in these circumstances.

A moving and fitting tribute.
As a previous poster mentioned, the Last Post was played at the final game at the Goldstone. This young girl walked on, unannounced and started playing in front of the West Stand ( South of the tunnel ) She was almost in front of me but a lot of the crowd didn't realise she was even playing. Suddenly, within seconds the ' shooshing and quieting ' took hold and she finished in almost complete silence.
I was alright up til then.
