I would take the Cup even if there was no European comp attached to it. Some might regard the FA Cup as simply a ticket to Europe, not me and I suspect the vast majority of people involved with this club feel the same. Winning the cup would be a absolutely frigging glorious.

16/1 with Sky Bet. 9th favourites with the only Premier League teams on longer odds being Wolves and Ipswich. I think that’s just a reflection of the tough draw we have away at Newcastle.

Edit: we’re 5/4 to win the tie at Newcastle. By my Maths we’d then be approx 13/2 to win cup if we beat Newcastle.

FA Cup but I wonder which option Tony Bloom would choose?

Would he take Champions League qualification as the income helps realise a long term strategy that ultimately means winning the FA Cup in the future becomes more likely? Or is that just a load of nonsense and he’d say FA Cup as well.

The FA cup means nothing anymore. One win tends to be forgotten very quickly. Plus getting to the final seems to be cursed. Leicester, Wigan, Hull, Villa, Watford, all sides relegated that season or the season after. Palace and Stoke being exceptions to this. Then Portsmouth were relegated two years after winning it (and money trouble following). Hell United this season are struggling after winning last year. I just think its cursed.
