That's the thing that people who side with the likes of GB News/Wooton(or Branning) – they think that it's double standards to call out him, but not, say, Edwards or Schofield. When, in reality, it's merely a case of highlighting the hypocrisy on show.

I caught a bit of his nauseating monologue earlier, but couldn't stomach it. He knows the game's up so is going for the sympathy vote. Trouble is, one look at Twitter and you can see that it's working with some people!
"Nauseating monologue":ROFLMAO:
Sincere look to camera - check.
No idea of what he's done or hasn't done, but my god that was pure vomit.

Thought he’d left last year?
Why would he? Suspended on full pay - Approx £440,000 a year.

Plenty more cash to spend on only friends!

Not sure it deserves the top story on the news today. Many people leave their jobs across the country. Someone will be able to fulfil his role quite adequately I'm sure.

With the BBC’s track record I’m surprised he’s not already back on the screens?

Ease him back gently, maybe a stint on CBeebies or Songs of Praise I shouldn’t wonder.

Just far enough away from LDC
So, correct me if I am wrong, but he hasn't committed any criminal offence? What he did may repulse some people, and may upset others but it wasn't illegal. Also I don't think anybody accused him of abusing his position?

In which case it is terribly sad that his career has ended this way with public humiliation.

*I will of course reconsider my view if evidence comes to light that he was a serial workplace bully, had abused his position and did break the law

On a completely different subject, how is Dan Wootton these days?

I couldn't be bothered to post yesterday, but I'd decided to watch the BBC six O'clock news. Well, the lead item was Huw Edwards. How can they prioritise the (not so) private life of this non entity above Putin's genocide ? Suffice to say, I didn't get to see the news last night.

Well, without going too far into the realms of speculation, what is being reported is that he has allegedly paid a 17 year old to produce indecent images.

Realistically, the police and crown would need proof that he knew the person was underage, or could’ve reasonably assumed that they were. If he could reasonably claim he didn’t know, it would be next to impossible to secure a conviction.

For example, if an agreement was made via contact through OnlyFans, their terms and conditions state that content creators must be over 18. If they didn’t look visibly underage, it would be reasonable for a viewer to assume they are over 18 and that OnlyFans have done their due diligence.

In short, the crime would be Causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, Sexual Offences Act 2003, s.10. And subsequent to that, possession of indecent images.

However, I repeat, there is absolutely no suggestion he has acted illegally at this time.

By the time of the 10pm news Huw had slipped down the priority list. But quite how someone at BBC decided that it should be lead 6pm news is beyond me.

The Beeb are never slow to self flagellate when they get the chance.

Huw was a decent newsreader, but far from irreplaceable. They have many capable front men and women

my understanding is he was viewing an only fans account and paying the asking price for pictures, something that hundreds of thousands of people do every single day, and is the reason the account owner had an only fans in the first place and the reason only fans exisits in the first place. There is a whole thread concerning Chelsea Astrid which has lots about her only fans account and plenty of comments from posters on here regarding said account-none of them seem to be suggesting anyone who looks at it or the miriad of others should be done umder the pornography act.
You have to be 18 to have an only fans, the young person -note the terminology-not underage, which would have been used by the pressw if they actually thought it was the case, has said the allegations are rubbish , the police obviously agree, and so on the face of it, the only "wrong doing" would appear to be in the eyes of the righteous public who dislike the fact that " that nice cuddly Hugh" from the Telly likes to wank over guys . What would the reaction of the press and public have been in the young person was female?- somewhat different I think
