Climate change does not exist in the context of human cause.
Yeah, governments have hung their hats on it to tax us to the hilt, but you keep filling your recycling bin with a few empty bake bean tins and feel ever so smug at your efforts to save us all from global meltdown.
I assume you didnt grow up in the 70's where the self same government scientists told us all of the impending ice age.
Climate does change, it what it does.
Assuming you've also spent 10 years studying and working in environmental science then I apologise.

New Orleans didn't have mass suicides and that was a Cat 5 with Katrina. Yanks are pretty damn good at handling hurricanes.

You realise that there are finite resources on the planet right (indisputable fact)!? Even if you don't believe in climate change, do you believe honestly that we should be mining for metals and materials rather than recycling material that we have? Are you also saying you'd rather pay more in energy bills than build homes that need minimal energy to heat them over the course of their lifetime? Or perhaps it's better to clear great swathes of beautiful landscapes in the search for more oil reserves or building new power stations!?
That's what I don't get about climate skeptics, even if climate change isn't man made (and I agree with the overwhelming number of environmental scientists that it is), a sustainable culture is just a logical step to take so that we're not searching the countryside for landfill sites, that we're not mining for materials that we can easily obtain through sensible reuse and recycling, and that we're reducing our energy consumption so that we can minimise the no. of nuclear power plants we need to build and vis-à-vis our own energy bills.
If someone is being stupid, it's got to be the person who hasn't really thought out their argument at all....

In my lifetime the weather has mirrored pretty much what the weather has been for a few hundred years, today is no different, yesterday was no different and I am guessing tomorrow too, will serve up nothing exceptional.

To me all other climate changes have occured naturally. As an example in and out of ice ages (when the differentials in temperatures were so much more extreme than now) which humans survived and eventually thrived?
Why (and how) are you certain that this climate change is caused by man?

Because we can analysis the earths weather cycles over millions of years through looking at things like ice core data which can tell us a lot about weather over a huge span of time. What is evident is that we are being 'kicked' out of a a natural cycle of climate through accelerated climatic change caused mainly through unprecedented levels of CO2 in the air. The isotopic signature of the extra levels of CO2 in the atmosphere are from fossil fuels. This is scientific fact as can be measured. What is also clear is that CO2 levels almost always lag behind climate change over thousands/millions of years, what is happening now is that CO2 levels are leading the change in the climate. We have departed the earths natural climatic cycle, and something like 97% of scientists agree on this.
Those skeptical about this established science are not 'skeptics', they are 'denialists' - because they are simply refusing to believe the evidence before them. Skeptic insinuates someone who is willing to question and is open to be convinced. A denialist is someone who simply will not accept the evidence.
