Just far enough away from LDC
I think Mad Frank must be on that site - there is mention of picking up ones belt from another contributors mothers place.

He gets everywhere

Don't worry about it. The building won't start until about 10 months after permission is grated, and the site will be well sercure by then. I'm sure the Albion will have secuirty patrolling this site long before building starts.

And if these soapdoggers managed to set up camp their, all we do go mob handed, and I mean thousand or so, and walk through the site, clearly removing everything in the way. Police would be powerless to act, and probably wouldn't want to anyway, soapdoggers get moved on, in what ever way they please, we start building our stadium.

Job done, nice and simple.

Is there a link to this?

I love the way that these 'conservationists' have no regard for due process.

"What's that? The government has given you permission? We don't care, why should we have to make representations and come to a balanced decision? We'd much rather just cause trouble."

Bastards.

Thats not one of the things i hold against them.Just because the govt says so, doesn't make it right.

Of course it doesn't. But this isn't simply a government decision is it; there have been numerous representations from all interested parties. What gives them the right to either i) not take part in the process and then compain or ii) take part, not get the decision they want and then find other ways to disrupt the process.

I can understand them protesting against some in-house government decision taken without consultation and due process. But when the decision is made, there will have been ample opportunity for all parties to make clear their view.

I love this bit:
"This list of comments is hilarious.

As an associate of some very strong environmentalists in sussex, I'm sure they would be laughing too at this including the comments from Sheffield.

Just imagine the conversations to the activists:

Matt Heath 'we need to protest at the brighton stadium'

sussex green lobby 'great, where is it'

MH 'just take the train from Brighton or lewes and Falmer station is a 90 second walk from the site'

SGL 'or we could take the bus that goes every 10 mins to the site'

MH 'or indeed we could drive along the 6 lane trunk road known as the a27 and the site is just next door'.

SGL 'what about parking?'

MH 'well there are 3000 parking spaces at the university of sussex or another 1500 at the brighton university, or you could use the leisure complex run by esporta'

SGL 'what about street parking?'

MH 'well there is the village of falmer (split across the 6 lane trunk road) but their spaces are used up by university staff. you could try southern water's headquarters or the new 6 student residents blocks or indeed falmer school. There is also the Moulescoomb council estate (the 10th most deprived in the country) and bits of that are closer than the village'.

SGL 'with all those buildings we'll never get the right shots - best we go at night?'

MH 'yeah no problem, the lights from the university of sussex sports ground - on til 11.00 each night - will clearly illuminate the way'

In this land there is a due process - sussex friends of the earth, the green party et al have all said they will accept that. However some people with no knowledge of the true position and full details will form a protest and circulate petitions over 220 miles away. I have no issue with people getting involved on either side, but please try and do so with a basis of fact rather than rhetoric."

Students, eh?

I presume from the illiterate nature of their posts that (1) they're not studying English Language and (2) the standard of university education is sinking faster than a tree-hugger in a muddy field.

I really, really, really, really hope it happens. Firstly because it means the building will finally be starting, and secondly because I have a LOT of suppressed anger in me. Ideally I want to vent it at LDC but a load of Tory students will do just fine. Just fine.
