Can't we do a poll on here, I think the reults might be a little surprising.

If you do a search I'm sure you will find one.

What is there to look forward to and make people renew?

Last time there was fight in the side and a real chance of going back up and a few decent signings including a certain Leon Knight.

This time went down with a wimper and cant even sort contracts out of players at the club all ready.

Stop changing the subject - this thread is about Millwall and Cardiff fans not renewing :lolol:

Actually before I get TLB down on me like a ton of bricks, I am very sceptical about surveys like this. I think it's become the accepted thing for fans everywhere to whinge and say they won't renew, when in fact in many cases they probably will.

I would say all this survey shows is who has the most morose bunch of depressing fans, no surprising that the likes of Man U, Millwall, and Wolves are right up there - glad we ain't, although thank god Football Fans’ Census didn't survey NSC :D

I don't think the Albion do them. Maybe someone can correct me on that.

I believe the club's view is that if you're old enough to drink, then you're old enough to pay full whack!

Was the Leeds guy a student then? I missed that bit.

Yes, the only £350 tickets for the season just gone were student ones. They are
£375 if you renewed before April 30th. New applicant prices for next season are yet to be announced.

The "If you're old enough to drink you can pay full whack" is the same at Leeds. If you are a 'mature' student (classed as over 18!) it's full price. Kiddies price for under 16s, then 16, 17 and 18s are students then full whack.

I've renewed, I always do, but I can understand why some people haven't. But I must admit when saturday comes there is no other place i'd rather be than watching the Albion.

We'll sell around 4000 I'd estimate. But who knows.

That is not bad. 50% of the stadium sold outright. I would expect with the school deals etc that we should average about 6,000, at least. We just have to hope for a big cup game vs Chelsea or Man Utd, and they refuse to take their cut.

What am I saying?? I guess 2nd round league cup could be a big team. Swansea?

I'd imagine a lot of people will choose games nezt year, there be games when its a bit empty in places. But then if we do well people will be falling over each other to get them and will buy batches of games, I don't think it'll ever be half empty.

Lets hope we start off well and make a few signings which prove worth while. Could CKR, Torenzo, Robinson and Joe Gatting to name a few be our saviours? Who knows?

A lot of that report is just bollocks anyway.

It says 19% of current season ticket holders at Old Trafford are not renewing, as though that is a big problem for ManU, when of course they have more than enough on the waiting list to snap them up.

Indeed; there was a report in the Observer this weekend that the new block of season tickets at the Old Trafford library was heavily over-subscribed.

[Due to cost: Man Utd 19%, Birmingham 18%, West Brom 17%, Cardiff 16%, Portsmouth 14%.
Due to standard of football: Villa 31%, Millwall 29%, Wolves 28%, Southampton 27%, Sunderland 26%.

Birmingham, West Brom, Millwall and Sunderland all got relegated so season ticket sales probably will fall.

Villa & Southampton have board room battles going on, and are both having bad times on the pitch.

Wolves fans for some reason expect to be promoted every year.

Attendances are generally on the up, lots of people moan about prices, but in the end stil go if a team is doing well.

I am glad I was able to buy a three year season ticket, it will be painfull having to fork out the cash again for the 2007-8 season!

As for the average spent per season, mmmm, wish that was all I spent

My average is probably

£450 season ticket
£345 £15 per home match
£2,300 - £20 match ticket £30 travel £50 food and drink per away game.
£3,095 total, plus England matches

Ouch, better find a new hobby!!!

Those 3 year season tickets look to be a good deal - do you still get the free cup ticket as it was part of the deal when you signed up?

Football has always been too expensive but if you want to watch the Hendersons, Harts, Kuipers and Carpenters of the world you gotta pay top dollar.

I have renewed, but only because my mate gave an interest free loan on the cost of a ticket - I cannot let him suffer on his own

Absolutely. There is a huge difference between 'not intending to renew' and 'not renewing'. As much as I agree with the general sentiment on here that the price of watching football is extortionate, clubs like Utd in particular simply don't care if an individual renews or not - they have countless thousands on waiting lists. So while the club doesn't even notice, the season ticket holder has lost his seat, probably for life, if he doesn't renew. According to a Spurs fan on TalkSport this morning, even Spurs have 14,000 people ahead of him on the waiting list, and they haven't won the title in my lifetime, so why should the big boys give a toss?

I read a stat somewhere that said something like 3.5% of Utd's season ticket holders are dead, but their families have kept renewing in their name so as not to lose the seat. Captive audience, football fans, however pissed off/broke we may be at the end of a season, in the main we keep coming back for more.
