How rich is Tony Bloom?

If he has his health, his family's health, a happy home life, the ability to feed and clothe his kids and he enjoys waking up in the morning to a bright new day.

Then I'd say he was incredibly rich.

His financial wealth really has nothing to do with anyone, apart from maybe the taxman and the head of Buckingham construction.

You're on the way to being a rich man Tim, you can tick off at least the first two on that list.

I don't know what the range of your binoculars is from Hollingdean. But I am certainly drawing the curtains from now on.

A man with a good memory! With the loft conversion just finished and us on the top of a hill we can see to Worthing and beyond now so keep 'em drawn sunshine.

Where did you get 10billion from? I said 1 billion...

Even if he's covered the costs, this is an actual project, where money needs to be paid... he's not underwriting a risk, he's paying for something tangible, so he must have the money avaialble.

I've been told by someone an estimate of what he's worth, and it's more than a billion.

100 billion:thumbsup:

1 billion is as much a guess as 350million, 10 Billion or 100 Million. we simply dont know. im not sure he's a billionaire, difficult to keep that sort of wealth off the radar, he doesnt apparently feature in any rich lists and most wealth is a matter of public record (company reports, land registry etc). its possible he's sunk alot larger proportion of his wealth into the project than people think, along the lines of Gwylan', he might be happy to "get by" on a few million for himself.

Until this thread I hadn't really thought about how much money TB has and thinking about it now makes me realise how lucky we are. Had any othe poker playing property developer turned up offering to invest millions into the club and we'd all be wanting to know how much money he'd got, how much he was prepared to invest etc. As it is, most of us seem to accept that he is in for the love of the club and he has got enough money to help us out. We don't need to know anything more.

so if he has paid the full 90 odd million does that mean we have nothing from banks / sponsorship or anything else.

What's with all this pius crap about it being none of anyones business! Strictly speaking it is of course right but everyone who supports the Albion must have some interest in knowing that the wealth of our chairman/owner is actual and sustainable. There have been too many instances over recent years of people claiming wealth and buying clubs for them to end up in the sh*t. Michael Knighton all those years ago was a United fan and rather than the reds, only ended up buying the Cumbrian version. Jordan at Palarse failed and many more. Now, we are blessed with the fact that the Bloom family have long been associated with our great club and at the moment it seems everything is hunky dory however, had not a few 'interested' fans delved deeper into the runnings of the club 15 or so years ago the activities of Archer would not have come to light. I'm not for one minute suggesting that we are heading down the same path, on the contrary, I am hopeful we will see the success we had in the late 70s and early 80s only this time on a sustainable level. But the blind faith of some on here is worrying.

Am I the only one who deeply and sincerely hopes that our wonderful and generous chairman no longer plays poker?

its not so blind. firstly, we know his long term family connection with the club. secondly, the cheque has been written, not promises and future plans, but done and dusted. thirdly, we do know how the money is supposed to be returned through debt to share conversion etc. i think we accept that Knight (our saviour) has passed on the baton knowing its all very kosher. the only question is where the cash has come from, which is really not that important as long as it has been produced (back to point 2).

If you added up the personal wealth of all the members on NSC, and then sold off all their stuff and added that to the total, you still wouldn't get close to the wealth of Mr Bloom. :)

He's considerably richer than you. (And me).

....But is he richer than Charlie Oatway????

According to some bloke at New cross train station last year Bloom is worth around 800 million but that could be and is likely to be bullshit.
