Well remembered, I never did get that cat. I think I was asking for name suggestions for it, with the name "Bobby" leading the way.

I can't remember. I did eventually settle on 'old fat and bald' in about 2000 but I used other random names before that.

I started posting on here in 97/98 or so, doing the nightshift with Ken Livingstone Seagull, Man of Harveys, Simster amongst others.
Nicked the name 'Bry Nylon' from some DJ at a 70s night I'd been to the night I first stumbled across this place.

Back then I imagined 'Man of Harveys' to be some ginger bearded, sandal wearing real ale geek freak, even though he assured everybody he was actually the spitting image of Martin Fry from ABC...

Given some of the spaccas that post on here of late, I almost miss Dave the Eagle and his posts that simply read "EAGLES HATE SEAGULLS" for pages and pages on end. Not much fun on dial up....

It was around in 96, I remember organising a mass snowball attack on David Bellotti's house in Eastbourne on 'here'. Ah, those were the days!

I posted from mid-97 as Tim from London. Weren't quite as many people around then, but was a good laugh. I remember a spell of invading other message boards across the globe - one Ice Hockey team in Canada over the Xmas period of 97 ticked me immensely

The very first one I was aware of was a bulletin board run by the footie magazine When Saturday Comes. This COULD have been as early as 1994, it was certainly back in the days when being a comms programmer and getting remote devices to talk to each other and transfer files was a valued skill, not like today when people just plug stuff in and it all connects automatically. Anyway I digress, but the WSC board (it wasn't called a 'site' then) was shit, which jaundiced me against 'hobby' boards.

I lurked on NSC for a while before posting (can't remember what name I used as you didn't have to register). I think one of the first threads I posted on was about Man of Harveys getting a cat.

If my memory serves me rightly ESPN had football chat rooms back in 92-93 though I can't recall if there were forums accompanying them.

All I do remember 100% is that there was alot of chat room fighting :mendoza:

Normally between lowewr league clubs fans and plastic Man U wanker fans.
