I know them both very well, I even helped out with some of the refurb. Early signs are they will make a success of it, old regulars returning after issues with the previous landlord and clientele and new punters taking a chance as it seems a nice place which it is. Brucie Bonus having Sky...

Sky and ESPN, result.
Phil was talking about getting a bigger telly as well (current one looks like a 30 or a 32, which is a bit of a squint from the other side of the bar). Wi-fi being installed shortly. Some good potential out the back with that brick barbecue and the decking area.

Coming together nicely. Early days as you say, but I reckon they'll do well out of it.

Paul Martin is my neighbour and is a Wet Sham fan and Phil is a stay at home armchair gooner. B'ton fans are in the minority, outnumbered by goons and sham fans for some reason, and the odd chelski

He has, however, guaranteed that it'll be the Albion game they show on Monday. Any plastic scousers after the Wigan v Liverpool game will be politely declined.

Haven't come across any wigan, but 1 or 2 liverplums inc Phils best mate are. What they've said is as a new venture for both of them it's a case of suck and see. If it works keep it, if it doesn't bin, as in Stella not selling so getting binned and being replaced by London Pride as the bottles of pride are flying out. If a punter asks for something they haven't got, they'll investigate if it's worth getting in. Having the golf society back will certainly help the coffers, as all good drinkers.

I make sure I go at least twice a week to my local. its a f***ing dump with plumbing coming out the walls, poorly acknowledged handwritten no drug taking signs no food and relys on alkie old micks watching the racing to keep the fucker going, but at least no one suggests the solution to its problems are putting in some sofas, getting a chalk board up with seared tuna on and some organic ales with jokey names, and a DJ.

Instead people just have a laugh everyone talks to each other and do not sit on facebook on their macbook.

Use It Or Lose It.

PuKKah !

I used to be in the pub nearly every night , 5 or 6 pints and go home whenever. Now I usually just go at weekends. Friday is usually a meeet up then probably Sat or Sunday.
If I have more than 2 nights in a row Im done in these days.

Since I changed location in Brighton I don't really have a local now. Shame I liked having a local.. I used to use the Eddy or Battle of Trafalgar. Fridays was ALWAYS without fail a bunch of us in Tin Drum. Now it's whatever pub we fancy.

I live up near queens Park now and I can't stand any of the pubs round there tbh. Rather stop in with a can or 2 in the week and chill out.

I go to the pun once every 4 or 5 weeks to meet up with my friends. Yes I do have some. The rest of the time I like to relax in Spielberg Towers in North Southwick with a nice bottle of red and / or a couple of whiskies. Life is for living after all.
