Rev, all the concourses will have somewhere to lean/put drinks on, TVs to watch and Harveys and Dark Star will be on sale at at least one outlet in all the concourse bars ( as well as the usual lager choices, obviously...don't know which particular brands but can find out if you like) As far as I am aware we are breaking completely new ground here, I don't know of any other clubs where real ale is sold on the concourses, and it will continue to be as long as we prove that it is commercially viable - which we will, won't we :)
In addition our supporters' bar in the North Stand will hopefully have more than 2 real ales (in addition to the lagers of course)

Can we please have PepsiCo supplying the soft drinks and not the Coca-Cola Company, pretty please?

Very little. If I want food I tend to eat before I go or buy something en-route. Drinking at football is always pain since you have to finish it before KO or pour it down your trap in one go at half time. I will sometimes buy a cup of tea though.

Out of interest, what is the criteria for 'commercially viable'?

It really depends....We will probably be in the Esporta Club before the games ( we have a Pilates class now at 1 o'clock) so probably eat there, BUT I can see getting a tea at half time .

Somehow real ale and football just don't go together. More of a rubgy-bores drink, but that's just my twatty prejudice I guess.

Sellimng enough that they make enough of a profit to justify continuing selling it. I don't think there will be a problem :)
'Real ale' is a catch all term: I reckon a lot of you lager drinkers would enjoy a pint of Dark Star Hophead or Sunburst as it goes. And I say that as an an ex lager drinker (a long time ago) As regards the cider yes, as far as I am aware: will ask

Sure, but this holds for most items being sold at the ground. Have you been told the approx number of pints per week/month/whatever this equates to? From the club's perspective there's a hell of a lot of whiggle room in 'sell enough'.

I don't know much about this, but isn't there a problem with just leaving Real Ale sitting there for the 2 weeks when no-one will be drinking it? Would they have to empty the barrels each time?

Thats just it i don't want to stand on the concourse drinking real ale and eating micro zapped pies! and for the record i didnt want the 1901 level of catering somewhere inbetween to sit down drink/eat with the kids watch the early game/late game and meet people for a chat, game of pool fruit machine like a pub but with more tables and chairs really:eek:

I'll be spending more than I do at the moment. A beer or two I'd imagine but I can't imagine there'll be much food I'd fancy eating unless they have some nice CHIPS!

There are plenty of places that provide all those things already. They're called PUBS.

Exactly, and that's the trade the club are hoping to grab a share of. However, no matter what the beer is, if the food is naff and you have to stand for 2 hours, they won't get much business before the game. This in turn will lead to the problem of getting thousands of people from Brighton station to the ground in time for KO. It is vital that large numbers of punters arrive well before the KO to use the facilities at the ground otherwise the transport links will be f**ked.

If only Terre e Terre would do a food stand next to the ale (match day delights).

I suspect that a case has had to be made to the powers that be that real ale is desired. I doubt that's ever been an issue for most other types of booze.
