I know it will vary on the size of your immediate family, but in always interested by what people are prepared to spend and what monetary value people put on Christmas.

Me, about £50-£100 on a pressie for the Mrs. The Mrs, hundreds on cards, paper, decorations, booze, food, presents. I shudder to think how much.

I buy very few presents, as there are no kids in my family and a no present policy amongst the adults. A bit of food and that's all.

We have a pressie policy - kids only. Apart from that just a little bit of food. I cannot understand how some people spend so much at christmas.

Try and keep it bare minimum, and normally buy a fair few presents in the sales for the following Christmas.
