I know I drink too much, and I'm damn sick of the government telling me I drink to much, smoke too much (not that I do) and anything else I do too much of. I am intelligent enough to realize that what I do to myself, I pay for myself...*sigh*

For all the smug people on here who boast they do not drink at all, you do realise being a teetotaler is as bad for your health as smoking 20 a day all your life as it takes off 6-7 years less than a moderate drinker.

Insurance companies will allow alcohol consumption up to 35 units a week as a standard pass.

No insult intended US but that doesn't seem right to me. I can't believe that.

I love the DOY and it is by far the best cinema in sussex, the films are generally arthouse though, for example they have no plans to show Transformers

Haha exactly. Transformers was awful.

Maybe they do and maybe I am shortening my life by 6-7 years by not drinking, however when you deduct all the time that many drinkers spend incabable of doing anything else due to alcohol induced stupor then it is a risk I am willing to take...at least sobriety helps me make the most of the time that I do have!

That doesn't realy sound right to me....Clear lungs better than tarred up gunky lungs?

1 glass of red wine every now and then has been proven to be beneficial, but not the smoking - I don't believe that for a millisecond...
