Monday to Thursday nothing (unless Albion playing)

Friday - A couple of cans on the train home and 2 or 3 pints back in Brighton

Saturday - Fuckloads

Sunday - Just enough to either a: cure the hangover or b: Just enough to get slightly squiffy again.

Edit - I presume that makes me a binge drinker ?

I don't get the whole drinking on the train thing. If you're in a group and on your way to the football / having a night out in London etc then fair do's but seeing a bloke sitting on their own in a suit clinging to a can of Stella on the train looks a bit desperate to me.

It looks so pikey and I always think why can't you not wait 1 hour to get home and then drink your cheap piss lager?

It's a Friday thing for me. When I used to work in Brighton, I used to go straight to the pub after work on a Friday to chill out wth a pint at the end of the week. Coming back from London I don't get back to my local until 8 o'clock so I have a couple on the train.

The drinking on the train is indeed an odd thing.....I can see Pastys point although I've always abided by the never drink alone rule.... I did like to see the 5.32 from London Bridge crew on a Friday playing cards and having a drink, always thought it was a fun way to pass the time!

Lots. Lots and lots. Probably about 30 pints a week at least. So what, I also go to the gymn 5 times a week and currently have a resting pulse of under 50.

But your livers completely f***ed:bigwave:

I'm on a plan to get rid of it - to drink only once or twice a week if that- I used to have a couple of glasses of wine a night, but I've noticed a vague fogginess creeping into my mornings, not sleeping very well and generally feeling unhealthy. So things must change as I don't like feeling like this - as much as I like a drink - I'd prefer to be clear headed and happy and that means no more drinking!

and on another thread:

Glad to hear someone else is in the same club - I'm just about the pram through the pouring rain to Somerfields (yes the shame) to buy a bottle of wine so I can sit on the sofa tonight and drown my sorrows

Women eh ! They cant make their BLOODY minds up :)

Possibly so, more likely not completely f***ed as I have made it to 46 and am still a damn sight fitter and more healthy than many half my age. And I have no intention of living until I'm 90 in a teetotal hell anyway, first real sign of liver failure and it's the walking ticket for me I assure you. :bigwave: :drink: :drink: :drink:

Didn't say I'd started my plan yet - but thanks for your words of encouragement :glare::rolleyes:

When I'm working I don't drink alcohol at all. On my days off, I know I drink too much, but stop 24 hours before I have to report back. I'd like to stop altogether, or just moderate it, but I always seem to tell myself "tomorrow."

I am the world's biggest skeptic but have quit drinking thanks to this wonderful book, and I was basically only a three tinnies a night merchant plus the odd heavy weekend.

It is written by the legendary Allen Carr the world's No. 1 guru on helping people stop smoking. This book really works, no withdrawal pangs, no craving, nothing. If you want to reduce the amount you drink or quit, I guarantee this will do the trick. Even if you don't want to quit, it is an interesting read anyway and sheds light on why people fall into the drugs trap.
