First full time job would have been about £800 for a month, circa 2004.

First pay ever would be about £6 or £7 for a weekly paper round, approx 1996

500 quid a month in March 1997 for cleaning hotel rooms. I don't think I've ever been so unhappy in a job although I used to find some interesting stuff from kinky fetish gear to drugs. I smoked some skunk I found but it knocked me out for the rest of the day and I puked up because it was so strong.

The name gives it away
£4 19s 6d for a 40 hour week from Brighton Borough Council in 1961. It was £5 a week but I had to pay 6d income tax. Mind you it only cost 2d to go to work on the bus and I think getting in the Albion for a youngster was only 1s (5p).
