Used to work flexi time, it was great! get extra hours during the week and then have a session in the William Tell on a friday. Although on that wage that was about all we could do!! Used to get lunch vouchers, do they still exist...

It would have been about £450 for a month in 1990. When you are 17 and living at home that was an AWFUL lot of money.

1997 First full time was £70 pw for 35 hrs at International Factors doing my job skills nvq business administration. Passed it with merit and realised i hated working in an office and left, done just about every other job since and still havent managed to break in to the magical £24,000 average salary..:annoyed::annoyed:

1965. 7 quid a week as 2nd Assistant Manager at the Grand Hotel Brighton.

Live in, all food (which was terrible) and free use of the telephone switchboard girls (which was great).

Start about 7 am, finish whenever, possibly a couple of hours off in the afternoon except for Political Party Conferences when it was 6am till about 2 or 3 in the morning.

I loved it! Especially the switchboard girls. Dorothy Murgatroyd, where are you now?
