The club are taking advantage of the high number of season ticket holders and feel that they do not owe them customer service, the work involved is on a database and takes little time or effort and there should be no question of any charge,if this type of action becomes regular it can reduce the number of future season tickets which the club should avoid at all costs. The suggestion that hundreds of fans will move is plain ridiculous.
A further blow to fans is closing the town centre shop, its bad enough that they withdrew the facility of issuing tickets now we cannot purchase shirts etc, I am not alone in deciding that we are being taken for granted.

I do actually agree on the town centre shop closing as a seriously bad own goal however if it is a loss making venture then clearly this needs addressing. Perhaps the club could agree a deal with Swifts (if still open) or some localised shop to still sell their merchandise.

Maybe the shop lease had expired.

It may well have done however surely they should try and tie up a deal with another shop to show visibility where everyone shops these days

Visibility and goodwill; two intangibles which I do not believe Barber realises the value or significance of.

To be fair to him (and if I was doing a stupid work survey) I strongly disagree with this.

He should understand these two intangibles with his commercial background.

So get another lease

Shop used to be across the road until recently, remember. How many thousands of :xmas: shoppers would make an impulse buy of an Albion scarf or hat or one of those rather tempting rudophinesque :xmas: jumpers if there was some kind of presence in or around Churchill Square. These are people who would never in a hundred years troll all the way out to the Amex to buy an Albion themed gift, even if they knew there was a big shop there and they knew for sure it would be open. Surely the club's big enough now to have a proper in-yer-face shopping presence where most of the shoppers go?

We have to pay £225 for our group to move. It's sickening, what will it actually cost them?

Do you have some compelling reason to move? Or do you just fancy a change of view? If you just fancy a change of view then the £225 is there to act as a deterrent. On the other hand, if you have a valid concern about your current seating, then I find it hard to believe that the club would not go at least someway in making things right without charging you £225.

Shop leases are usually a big commitment, most landlords are looking for a five or ten year lease the club may be making other plans either way there is no need for your dick head response.

Not a dick head response at all IMHO - other than maybe the first four words which may in a certain light constitute a 'semi'. Thought I was pretty constructive there, shame you chose to take it otherwise. Oh well. all I'm saying is its not beyond the wit of man fo4r the club to have an in-yer-face outlet available slap bang centre over Xmas. Like, y'know that bakery-type stall outside Brighton station or the laughable 'Bavarian' Xmas market outside Churchill Square. Pretty sure neither of THEM have aq five or ten year lease. all I'm saying is there's plenty more room for creative marketing thinking cos there's a huge untapped market out there that don't shop on the internet and ain't trolling out to Falmer to buy a set of Albion cufflinks for their dad.

Or if the club DO want people to only shop at the Amex Superstore in the run-up to Xmas, all they got to do is put a bloody big full page ad in the argus every day and offer free parking right outside the front door. Even the Goldstone Retail Park manages to offer that...

I think the shops time was up when the decision was made not to sell tickets there.

Without selling tickets, a very useful service, there was no point in using the big window space to advertise games and hadn't they also withdrawn discounts on stock? Club seemed to do their best to discourage trade at that shop.
