Why shouldn't the club make money out of the travel sub ?

They have every right to as it is in t & cs just like moving a seat, whether you agree on it is another matter however it is part of acceptance of purchasing a season ticket. Perhaps the high charge to move seats cross-subsidises the alleged loss on the travel the club make.

PM Paul Barber I am sure he will know

Anger management? I'm just pointing out what an absolute tight arsed hypocritical tool you are and having a chuckle about it. Incidentally, gang would suggest more than one person. It's just me for the minute isn't it? Although you're probably right, I'm sure there are others who would agree with me in considering you a total nob.

You have a serious issue in my view if you get that worked up over something like this and always against me but as I said I feel your love.

So it's OK for you to whine about the travel sub being unfair but you don't accept other people's complaints about charges for moving seat as being unfair ? Hmmm ......

They would still be making a mark up on it if they charged £10.

Ticket office member of staff cost £6.50 P/H this will not take a full hour to process no more than a couple of minutes.

Cost of new card? hard to speculate but no more than £5.00 I would find it hard to believe they cost more than a £1.00 each.

so for something that works out around £5/£6 and takes 2-3 mins work a £4/£5 mark up is still pretty decent money.
The real reason for this mark up is surely that they don't want to be doing it. It's probably a complete faff from the point of view of the ticket office and detracts from going about their core business function. They are now a high volume business - if it was inexpensive to do this, then everyone would consider it every time someone noticed a seat going spare (or with a different person every match) in a marginally better position than their current season ticket.

I don't have a serious issue at all. You're the one who bangs on ad-nausium about it, feeling aggrieved over a £3 a match transport charge, yet will dismiss a massive £25 charge out of hand without giving the OP any sensible dicussion.

As I say, the issue is yours. Your tightness in particular. A sad way to be really.

To a certain extent yes but at the end of the day I had to accept what I signed up to, which is what is happening here.

Why does the person complaining not write to the club like I did, albeit eventually I got a response from a Director saying tough this what you signed up to.

Maybe the OP and yourself could team up for court action ? :p

Very good and what I proposed was in effect an over reaction as it clearly stated what I has signed up to or was intending to sign up to when they changed the rules

I think that pretty much nails it. The fact is the club have 23,000 STH's to look after and a further 6,000 fans to chase each match, the operations will reflect this.

No intention of changing every season, just want to be in a particular section of the North... the seats are empty and we see it as a better view point. Nothing sinister and certainly nothing that warrants a £100 surcharge.

Drew, I do understand your point of view but its very much like if you book a table at a restaurant, would they charge you to change seats? Most probably not unless you're at a michelin star restaurant... we're far from the finished product of a United or Liverpool where they probably have the demand and credibility to charge higher fees. We should be embracing the fact that fans want to have a better overall product whilst making it far easier for them to ascertain it. Slapping charges on for the sake of it, isn't right imho.

Fair enough though the thing is whatever the price, someone would complain. Seem to recall the debates about ticket prices. Some would say they are about right, some would say it should be £15 and others thought it should be even less. I do think part of the price is to deter people from moving around too often because given the chance there would be plenty that would. With regard to your analogy with a restaurant table, you don't actually pay for the table and if you change, you haven't already paid!!!

I asked to move seats because I couldn't bear listening to the bloke in the seat next to mine who was continually whinging about Barber, and "fans not customers", and how the club was always trying to rip us off. They waived the admin fee immediately.

I'm pretty sure this is the correct answer.

I don't have a problem with them charging £25 to do this, but for goodness sake they need to be CONSISTENT.

Can you imagine the chaos of the club announced you could move seats for a fiver?

25 quid sounds fair to me.

Why would you announce it? I can't see the point, its not something the club would want to do, however if they do need to do it, charge a fair price.

Also if you are going to say there is a charge, then charge it, dont allow it for free to some customers and the full whack to others. I assume this is going to be memebers of staff who no how little effort and cost it takes and doing it without ringing up a charge. where as others are sticking to the rules. i wouldnt also be suprised as a one person changing this will be nice and simple for them, more than that they might not want to do it, so insit on charging the £25.
