my opinion i was amazed so many were insider it looked between 20k to 25k perhaps in the middle there. It was a stack of hassle getting there and i wouldnt be surprised if the real bums on seats inside the Amex was known it was that low. Well done everyone however you follow the club i dont judge you or regard you any more or less a fan whether you came in person tonight watched on Amazon or otherwise. Thanks to you all because it would have been a dull atmosphere inside on my own and had I watched on Amazon it wouldve looked and felt weird seeing noone inside.

I left the house yesterday at 2.30pm, in order to get the Hove in time for the lift I’d arranged at 5.30pm. After waiting to the whistle, and then sitting for an age in the Uni car park, we finally got home just after midnight. I was lucky to have enough leave left to take the afternoon off work. Without that I physically could not have made the game last night.

As I said on the match thread, it was disappointing so many could t be arsed. That said, like the Boxing Day Brentford match or the Man City home win (where there were tickets available to anyone), the loyal home fans got a good night. It’s disappointing from some - support the lads.

Ease off on the criticism dear boy. Many thousands of us who would have made the game couldn’t because of the train shambles. Within our ‘supporter group’ of ten, who attend just about every game, only two could go as they live locally in Hove. For those of us that live some distance away we might have been able to get to Brighton but absolutely zero chance of getting back home. That does not make us bad fans.

Not sure on the exact arrangements but my mate got a train from London then one of the shuttle buses from Brighton? I think there were a number who just couldn’t be arsed I’m not going at specifics - if London was a no go clearly my mate lied to me about how he got there leaving at 5 I did say some would have been f***ed by it but some just couldn’t be arsed - anyone taking offence to that opinion prob falls in the latter

Exiting the uni car park seemed particularly bad last night.

I'm not entirely sure why - technically it's full and "sold out" every game.

If the ticket exchange had been open tonight, I may well have put my tickets up for sale and allowed the ticket exchange gods to decide my fate. If they'd sold, I'd have watched from home, if they hadn't, I'd have taken them back and gone.

What I do think, though, is Saturday will be a bumper crowd and a cracking atmosphere.

You'd have to question someone who would decide to bin off The Albion over a Christmas party. My office party this year is on the day of the Marseille game, I was ecstatic that I had a cast iron excuse not to go to Donetello's this year.

Everyone knows that’s bollocks! Attendance/Pretendence is always based on ticket sales not bums on seats. It’s an absolute guarantee that for a PL game attendance will never, ever dip below 23,000 even if there’s a plague of locusts over Falmer.

P.S. Having said the above I was surprised, watching on TV, how many fans did make the game. Bravo to you!

That is ridiculous... I was at the match and was amazed that so many did make it (two thirds full). Surely you know the majority of our fans don't live in BN1? Our catchment stretches to Hastings in the east, to Worthing in the west, and Haywards Heath to the north.

I'd say Littlehampton in the West and Horsham in the North.

Plus all those of curse who travel from MUCH further afield.

I had 5 seats of space around me. I'm going to have to be honest here - I quite liked it.

I left work at 3pm and arrive 5 mins after kick-off. first time it was worse getting there, then getting home.

I left Oxford (work thing, don't live there) at 3pm and just managed to get there in time.

It seems I was lucky as I missed a big pile up on the a23 that must have happened shortly after I passed through (hopefully not a result of my erratic lane changing) which seemed to affect a lot of people as folk streamed in throughout the whole first half.

Altho worldwide tv ratings are prone to exaggeration and very hard to report back on accurately so hard to say !

UK ratings less so - Sunday afternoon games on Sky are normally in the “millions” tbf .

Why does the weather keep getting thrown in?

It was a perfectly reasonable crisp cold frosty December's evening. Perfect football weather. Do people really consider the weather when deciding about attending?

Have to confess that I pulled a late swerve on this one. Kids were kicking off, missus losing her mind and still arsey about dam trip.
With more home games soon and a rare chance to watch a whole Albion match on telly I quietly took off my cold weather gear and put family first.
None of this will count in my favour for getting to further European away/neutral games though.
