Yes. Worldwide viewing figures for PL games are notoriously difficult to estimate so all of this is hard to prove. And .its true that the big PL games do attract millions of viewers in the UK alone and the global appeal of the Premier League thanks to TV is vast and lucrative - but any idea that Brighton v Brentford - either legitimately or not and via the overseas broadcasters was last night bringing in the big numbers (especially when there was a full programme being broadcast alongside) is probably unlikely.
What would normally be counted in the worldwide viewing figures? "Big numbers" might be unlikely, but it doesn't feel unreasonable that the total global audience would be over 2million (all that would be needed for Thunder Bolt's original post to be accurate) given a lot of people would be watching more than one game at once in bars and bookies etc.

Even with that - the live audience wouldn’t be in the “millions”

Altho worldwide tv ratings are prone to exaggeration and very hard to report back on accurately so hard to say !

UK ratings less so - Sunday afternoon games on Sky are normally in the “millions” tbf .
It was on TV in Japan, so...

Wouldn't worry too much about that guy. He's got previous. He once lambasted the Amex atmosphere - while absolutely @Sheebo'ed - while watching a match from his bar stool in Benidorm :lolol:
You won’t be getting a rise off me old boy - or the serial passive aggressive ‘liker’ of every post aimed at me on here 🤣

Loads of fans, myself included, don't care at all about points. Only people who like away games would be bothered and that's probably a minority.
We sell out a 3,000 away allocation every single week. That isn't the same 3,000 people, there must be at least 10,000 that go away from time to time. I bet it would have put a couple of extra thousand on the gate.

That is ridiculous... I was at the match and was amazed that so many did make it (two thirds full). Surely you know the majority of our fans don't live in BN1? Our catchment stretches to Hastings in the east, to Worthing in the west, and Haywards Heath to the north.
Well said. Too many people on here willy waving, thinking they are better than others, without knowing everyone's circumstances.

Exiting the uni car park seemed particularly bad last night.

I'm not entirely sure why - technically it's full and "sold out" every game.
Not sure what was going on but the ST coaches were delayed getting out of the coach park due to traffic issues outside.

Nice write up on the match with a Hinshelwood focus in the Guardian:

Nice, if rather inaccurate. According to that, the Hinsh clearance off the line came with the scores level (it didn't), and according to the stats graphic, Brentford didn't have a single shot on target all game (despite scoring one goal, and the article focusing on a goal-line clearance!)

The Hinsh clearance was at 1-1, we went down the other end and he scored the header just moments later.

Someone told me that Lewis Dunk and Solly March went to the same school in East Sussex. They also said Adam Webster and Jack Hinshlewood went to the same school West Sussex. Does anyone know if this is true?
This person never saw the goal live, should we trust her?

The most curious thing..
I'm pretty sure an Amazon Prime stream of Brighton v Brentford won't have added 'millions' to the viewing figures. A few more tens of thousands, perhaps.
Well I saw it

I thought Dunk went to Varndean and Solly St Bedes. Not sure about the other two but I'd be surprised seeing as Webster is from Chichester and Hinsh Worthing.
