I used to manage a garage in brighton, which meant leaving the house around 7.15 am each day and prob not getting home until around 6.30pm 5 or 6 days a week - until I left that to become full-time carer for my mrs, so now it's 24/7 although my conditions of employment have improved my pay has nose dived!

Nightmare hours at the moment but I'm just grateful I've got a job.

start at 6am in the office with a lunchtime call with the Singapore office and then finish at 8pm with a call to my boss in the US.

No complaints as its better than having no job. Trouble is it takes 2 hours to get in to the office so leave at 4am and get back at 10pm.

ooh look at me! University of life blah f***ing blah

evryone should have a right to be able go into further education, and perhaps the original poster is going to college with specific training in mind. He could be studying to become a doctor, how the f*** do you know? :tosser:
Fair comment, but worth remembering that for every "university of life" type, there is a Student Grant "intellectual cweam of the cuntwy" type too, who genuinely believes life owes him a living because of his 2:2 in theatre design.

Personally I'd love to see more government-subsidised apprenticeships as a way of reducing the number of students saddled with debts of £20k before they even start work. It is difficult to find affordable yet competent plumbers and sparkies these days.

Up at 5, leave the house at 6. Get to Londinium Village and the office about 8. Tend to leave the office at 5:40 and get in the door at home about 7:30.

So that's about 13.5 hours door-to-door.

Because the cats are now used to being fed at 05:30, at weekends, I have to get up then also and feed them, otherwise I won't get any peace, but I do go back to sleep for a couple of hours.

I leave mine at 4.30am and get back home anywhere between 12.30-2pm. But because of the early starts it can feel like a longer day sometimes.

Postman by any chance?

Early Shift: Mon-Fri leave home at 0610 get back at 1510, Sat leave home at 0610 get back at 1925, Sun leave home at 0610 get back at 2040.

Late Shift: Mon - Fri leave home at 1335 get back at 2240

Night Shift: Sun leave home at 1920 get back 0800, Mon - Fri leave home at 2050 get back at 0800

Fiar point Simster.

We have recently had a round of interviews here and the common response to graduates who were expeciting starting salaries of around 20% higher than the advertised basic purely on the basis that they had a degree.

Get yourself some of the electronic cat feeders and set it to come on at 5.30am at weekends!

I work from home so work whatever hours are needed. BF leaves at 0555 and gets home 1855 M-F
