How long has Poyet got as manager at BHA?

How on earth is this a rubbish thread?

Should be now a very serious consideration, Poyet is not going to get us any further. Please stop the "he got us to the championship" doesn't matter, we have serious ambitions so therefore should make a strong statement. He cannot be trusted with transfers and our money.

Blimey Trig, you're on fire tonight. Keep up the good work!
Spelling a word incorrectly while calling someone stupid, or arguing with anyone daft enough to argue back?

I think the signing of Ulloa (and possibly Upson) saved Gus' career. We really were half the team without them and the way things were going pre Ipswich-away, Gus' job did look unsafe. I can understand people saying his job was in doubt, however silly it looks now.

Having seen the look on Tony Blooms face a few months back when someone asked whether Gus would be sacked if we didn't make the play offs I'd put most of what you've written under bullshit I'm afraid... Was never anywhere near being sacked imo...

How long has Poyet got left at the Albion?

Given that we have not won in 5, I expect he will last until Newcastle game.

If we lose to Ipswich & heavy defeat against Newcastle on TV, then it will be curtains.

I'm sorry it didn't happen like that for you.

Indeed. Several clubs are run by idiots who are all too trigger happy, but fortunately ours isn't one of them.

This thread is excellent in highlighting some of the absolute morons on here who think they know about football.

Was going to say the exact same thing, a lack of perspective and long term vision amongst a small but very vocal minority.

This season has been hell on here for absolute tools spitting their bile at various players, the manager, Barber, other fans et al.
Absolutely sick of it and delighted that they're being shown up for the cretinous little maggots that they are.

Great post. Apart from the first couple of games (when we played the current 1st and 2nd), we've not been in the bottom half of the table all season. Reading some of the comments on this thread, you'd have thought we'd been scrambling at the bottom with Brizzle. I appreciate that many of the comments were written after the Watford game but even then we were only a few points outside the play-offs and had been beaten by a team of Serie A and Prem League loanees - the air of doom was completely unrealistic.

Indeed. Several clubs are run by idiots who are all too trigger happy, but fortunately ours isn't one of them.

Yes and the people calling for Gus's head are the sort of people who are in charge at Wolves and Blackburn. I honestly do not understand why people think changing a manager after a couple of bad results is a good idea - where does it get you? Our visitors on Saturday will tell you exactly where it will get you.

We have beaten the teams that are 1st,2nd,3rd & 5th this season. We haven't beaten any of the teams that are 6th,7th,8th,9th or 10th.

This division is crazy.

Correct. Thank God Tony doesn't have as itchy a trigger finger as many on here. He's a smart, shrewd man and can see that Gus's plans have always been long term.

In response to the original question: as long as he needs to take us to our full potential. Then he can move on with our blessing.

Honestly, I have not had a single doubt about him at any point this season. That's the god honest truth.

I'm naturally optimistic for any of our managers and will always look for the positive, but I just couldn't see ANY reason at ANY point to doubt him. We are one of the only clubs in the country to have a style of play associated with them. I LOVE that. I LOVE watching the players attempt to pass. I love everything he has brought to this club.

You're never going to agree with EVERY thing a manager does. Some Man Utd fans won't agree with SIRALEX at points, but there's a difference between doubting a manager and not agreeing with a team selection.

All of this.

This is so, so true. I can't believe how ridiculously negative it's been on here at times. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST TIMES FOR ALBION FANS EVER. Take that in. Enjoy it. Otherwise you'll miss out.

I love these threads being bounced. It's partly to laugh at at the crap, ill-considered (and woefully inaccurate) opinions but also for the sheer wonderment that some people can't see that this is one of the greatest eras in the club's history. Over a NINE MONTH and FORTY SIX game seasons there are bound to be bad patches (and times where the manager makes mistakes) and it's amazing how many people extrapolated those into doom and gloom scenarios where the only option was to replace the manager. Still, I'm sure if we fail to make the Prem they'll be back - even though most of us would consider reaching the play-offs to be extremely good progress and are just happy to enjoy this era.

Agreed. I enjoy using NSC but fear if we reach the Prem it will become unbearable as we'd have some tough times.
