How long has Poyet got as manager at BHA?

I love these threads being bounced. It's partly to laugh at at the crap, ill-considered (and woefully inaccurate) opinions but also for the sheer wonderment that some people can't see that this is one of the greatest eras in the club's history. Over a NINE MONTH and FORTY SIX game seasons there are bound to be bad patches (and times where the manager makes mistakes) and it's amazing how many people extrapolated those into doom and gloom scenarios where the only option was to replace the manager. Still, I'm sure if we fail to make the Prem they'll be back - even though most of us would consider reaching the play-offs to be extremely good progress and are just happy to enjoy this era.

They'll also be ready and circling like vultures if we do go up. The first couple of losses and it'll be "Poyet HAS to win on Saturday away to man city or he has to go. We HAVE to stay up and I don't care it's still August, he needs results or he needs to be shown the door before it's too late. Get McCarthy or Curbishley in, they know the division."

jesus christ almighty.......can't we just enjoy our current predicament rather than sniping eachother..........football is all about passion and enthusiasm isn't it..?

i've supported the team for 30 yrs + believe me , we are in the best position we have been in for years..........we have leapfrogged numerous other teams this season and if we go up it's going to be a massive bonus ,
it will also cause a big clear out as a lot of the team won't manage premier league football...be careful what you wish for chaps ,the boys have done well this year.

3-2 v wolves.

This is one of my favorite statements on this thread! Knee jerk......HAHAHAHAHA!
What a plonker!

as your peers would say, takes one to know one. Is it worth pointing out the thread was written in December and AT THE TIME (this is the bit you're plainly struggling with) the team AT THE TIME...FFS why am I even bothering? you're still suffering nappy rash! Hope you're not doing history gcse as you clearly struggle with time differentiation! Face palm face palm.

Sadly not, today's culture. Can't enjoy the times of unbridled joy, always look for a negative even if have to make it up to suit ones argument. But just forget em - what I'd have given for a day like this Saturday when we trudged to gillingham every fortnight for2 years. I knew we'd come back, I genuinely never stopped believing because I knew our history. When we end up in the top flight again it's going to be emotional, Donny.Rovers all over again! And some! Thank you TB!

Brilliant. So even though Gus has got us to 4th you can't admit you were wrong (to be fair along with so many people in this thread). Presumably you still think you were right and we would have won the league if he left in December.

It is irrelevant when the thread was started. It was a ridiculous over reaction to a defeat against the best team we have played this season. The sad thing is people won't learn and no doubt will be back on here if we don't win the play offs or go up and struggle early on to say sack him.

'Of course we're grateful for what Poyet did for us, but the club has moved on, we're in the Premier League now and should be pushing for Europe, not fighting relegation. Thanks Gus, but it's time to go. You're a Championship level manager, at this level you've been found out.'

Tuck this quote away somewhere. I guarantee some complete fool is going to write almost exactly this if/when we go up and inevitably struggle against the big boys.

dont know Im no mystic meg, a lot of manager changes always happen & its my opinion that IF we dont go up he will be in the premier league next season...
.

Ok, I'll phrase it this way.

Which premier League jobs do you think are going to be available for Gus to take?

Chelsea! Why would they choose Mourinho when they could get Gus.

You make a good point. Which club that's doing quite well is going to ditch their manager for someone who hasn't managed in the premier league before.

Everton, Newcastle, and outside chance Arsenal when Weger goes to PSG/monaco
He would like to manage Spurs and Chelsea one day, I'm not sure the Arsenal fans would take kindly to Gus joining them. Newcastle have had a poor year, but AP has proved himself with them before, I don't see why they'd want to replace him with Gus. If Moyes leaves, I could see Everton being interested, but that relies on Moyes finding a better job than Everton, and I'm not sure any are available yet.

I think Wet Sham will be available.
I'd expect West Ham fans to be interested, but I don't think their owners are at the moment. They want premiership stability while they get the new stadium sorted, I can't see them paying off Sam and paying out Gus's contract here.

It could happen, but I think it's more likely part way through next season, when a premier league club is failing, and they want to turn it around.

In my opinion West Ham will 100% stick with Big Sam. He's done an excellent job there.
Newcastle will stick with Pardew, especially with his 8 year deal and such a good season last year.
Everton is the only one which arguably concerns me.

So that's one job. Not really much to back up any fears that he will "definitely" be gone.

He will leave for a good job and if they want him. He won't leave REGARDLESS.

He's got it bloody good here.

Martinez has TWICE refused to leave Wigan because the job on offer wasn't right for him. It has to work both ways.

You'd think that some of the cataclysmic over reactions on here are purely the creation of keyboard warriors, the worrying thing is that these people actually do exist! Case in point a guy in WSU block C seems to only be heard if we're playing rubbish, he has left loads of games early this season because "it's boring"

Followed by the inevitable:

'Time to send for Harry/Curbs/Mark Hughes/Sven/Neil Warnock' etc.
