It’s on a much lower scale - but I’ve been very careful not to earn more than topping up to my normal wage in second job, as I get the feeling people that take the piss could be in trouble.

I wouldn't worry too much about that mate. Earn what you can in that situation.

4 months, looks like being self employed here is a curse when this sort things happen.
