I'm popping to Kent this week to pay that **nting eagle a visit, I've bought her a little piece of meat. If I get the dosage right, Kayla should croak as she does her shitty little Selhurst flight. I've arranged for 3 cages of starved Seagulls to be released at different points outside the ground between 7:30 and 7:40, so with a bit of luck they'll swoop in and feast on her while Palace stare on in disbelief.

For the record, I don't hate Palace or their fans.

Clearly there's never been a Brighton v Palace fixture of this magnitude and importance before with so much at stake.

Neutrals talk of this being a somewhat mickey mouse 'derby' and are somewhat dismissive of it, but from what I've seen in the past the level of hate between the two sets of supporters is unprecedented.

Personally I think the atmosphere on friday is going to be absolutely vile and the OB are going to have a job on there hands. Fingers crossed it goes without incident of course and we can stick to talking about the football come the final whistle.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this matter?

Compared to the away play-off tie at the old Den, I expect this to a teddys bear picnic, kept in for ages after the game, and then same tactics to Norwood Junction after all the Palace lot have gome home.

What you have to consider is many other rivalries have the familiarity of playing each other regularly and this can almost water down the hostilities between both sides.

Perhaps unprecedented was a step to far though when you consider Swansea v Cardiff and Millwall v West Ham.

I remember that night, I took my young son (a mistake as I was really worried for him). I do, it was my 16th birthday. I remember the Police trying to get them to leave the ground and that coppers hat set on fire, also having railway ballast thrown at us as we were only being let out one at a time through the turnstiles. When they eventually opened the gates I remember seeing a bunch of Albion fans wearing Tesco carrier bags chasing after the Millwall thugs who were throwing the stones.

Then had to walk escorted right to the other end of the ground where the coaches were parked. Mark Barhan and Gary Nelson were there chatting to the fans as we boarded our coaches.

Great memories.

The only time I've been scared at a game of football. I was 14/15 and was concerned for my life at one point. Great game to say "I was there" but awful at the time
