Sorry for the late report but NSC wouldn't work on my computer, but i decided to try ClippedGull's method. Here's how i got on..;

There i was drooling at the thought of a nice cuppa tea, running down the stairs in exictment. I could hear the Kettle boiling, from the next room. I thought to celebrate this new recipe i would use my best mug - My David Ginola one.

I was standing there, thinking about what his method was, trying to remember it, i froze...Had PD forgotten CG's method, meaning..he would have to walk upstairs to look on NSC again? No, of course not.

In went the Teabag and 4 ( !!!!) Sugars.Pop.The kettle had boiled , i slowly but surely poured the water into the DG mug...watching the water get darker and darker. I stirred, thoroughly until i felt it had 'brewed' enough. Then whilst still stiring the tea, i added the Milk, only a tad but enough to make the tea change into a nice colour.

Up i went - I had to do it ..i simply couldn't wait to sip this..i went for it ...OUCH. I ended up with a burnt toungue for my troubles...i then gave it a minute or two ( or three). I sipped and i was pleasently suprised, were the days of making a good cuppa back? They could well be.

VERY good, this is the first time i had tried this. - 8/10. ( I'm sure if you'd have made it it'd been 10/10:lolol:)

More METHODS/RECIPES?

I'm glad you enjoyed your cuppa the CG way! :)

Tea

Put teabag in cup/nice Mug. Pour boiling water over teabag. Mush all of the leafy goodness out of the tea bag before adding a splodge of milk. Mush teabag once more and remove once tea is a lovey brown colour.

Serve.

Hot Choc

Fill a nice mug with milk. Pour milk into microwavable jug and put in microwave for 3 minutes. Put 3/4 heaped teaspoons of Cadbury's drinking chocolate into mug. Wait for 2 minutes 45 seconds until the microwave dings. You could use this time to pick your nose, skim read the front page of the paper, or simply have a wank.

Pour hot milk into mug whilst stirring.

Serve.

tea bag, boiling hot water, wash about a bit, done. No milk or sugar.
Prefer it to be weak rather than strong, like they drink it in China
Though the ceremony takes about half hour by the time they've washed the cups 3-4 times and the cups are tiny :jester:

Are you mental? - I'm not even going to try that, sorry.

You should NEVER put the milk in before the tea. If you put the milk in first, it reduces the temperature of the water you are adding (having just gone to the effort of boiling it), The maximum amount of flavour is released by near-boiling water, anything lesss is less efficient.

oh, and tea shouldn't really be taken black. Tea is acidic and the milk being alkaline neutralises it. Long term drinking black tea can cause stomach problems of too much acidity.

I'm offically stopping putting the milk in first.:p

I'm glad you enjoyed your cuppa the CG way! :)

Just out of interest how many kilos of sugar do you go through in a month.

Agreed!!

And hot chocolate should be: Chocolate in cup, mixed with a little bit of cold milk - adding boiling milk - never water.

Even if it says "just add hot water" on it?

Quite right, I worked in an office where we took turns to make brews...there was one lass who I couldn't convince not to put the bag in with the milk, sometimes she put so much milk in the mug it almost made me puke when I drank it...what an easy way to ruin a cup of tea!

Quite right, never mix the teabag and the milk.

Put in the teabag, then the boiling water then let it brew for however long you want, take out the teabag and then put in the milk.

I used to mix the bag and the milk, someone told me not to and it is so much better.

Microwave. Just put the milk straight in the mug and do it until its hot enough (2 mins or thereabouts), then put the powder in. Couldn't be easier and an untrained chimp could do it!

The essential thing with tea or coffee if you're having sugar is to make sure you don't put milk in before the sugar. The amount of minging coffee's i've had where some baffoon has put the sugar in after the milk is rediculious! It's quite bloody obvious that the sugar won't dissolve properly if the water isn't piping hot so you have 80% of the cup not sweet enough then a hideously sweet last 20%! :shootself

My travelling companions to away games will testify that I'm a sugar demon at service stations up and down the country.

Right, so i went for the 'MILK IN THE MICROWAVE FOR 2 MINUTES' option.

I was nervous going into this one, as i was using my trust SPURS-ENGLAND mug..and wasn't sure if it was microwavable....so i put 2 minutes on the microwave....after 1 minute i checked that the mug hadnt cracked. It hadn't. Anyway i took it out after 2 minutes...and it had like a little layer on top of it..(like what you get on curry sauce, if you leave it for a while) - Therefore forcing me to think ..should i drink this..?....should this have happened? Sod It. I wasn't turning back in went the CADBURYS MIXTURES and corrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it was f***ing lovvvvvvvely!!!!!

Thanks for the idea, certainly be using that more often.

Cheers my good man,I was taught the tea making ritual by my Dad who although is from Kent, made the best tea ever. He even took the ritual a step further by useing only teapots and cups made in England(Sheffield I think,Stellite) and he insisted to never use soap to remove tea stains in the pot, just rinse with water and let dry.

I note that the milk in with the T bag problem has been corrected already so I will move on to the hot Chocolate.

Fill a mug with milk and a bit of cream then whack it in the microwave for 3 minutes. Now you have a mug of warm milk so add 3 or 4 heaped spoonfuls of drinking chocolate powder and stir vigorously. Loverly.

The trick is to NEVER bother with hot water and only add the powder to HOT milk, otherwise it doesn't mix properly.
