This must happen. There is no doubt that he has excellent character but in football terms it is a long while since his best form due to injury and illness. We cannot rely on him in the Premier at this stage and we need to sign further back up. It need not be expensive.

Oliver Burke from RB Leipzig would count as an U21 player.

Maybe he'd want to come back to the UK, although the fee maybe out of our league.

I think Sidwell signing has potentially knocked Norwood out of the 25 man squad ( with another central midfielder still to come in ).

I'd be interested to see if the 25 man squad has to contain a specified amount of goalkeepers or if there is the opportunity to bring one in if we were hit by an injury crisis. If we had that as an option then just name 2 goalkeepers and bring back Walton from a loan spell if required

Loan recalls are not allowed outside transfer windows, we'd have to get a new GK in on a repeating 7 day emergency loan each repeat subject to approval, or use an U21.
