He's ****ed:D but he can be a complete and utter **** so I dont care. He's been taking the piss out of me and tagging me along for over 2 years with false promises.

Me and the wife have been saving hard for 10 years and have £50k in the bank for a house deposit but have been unable to buy a house because we couldn't get the Loan-to-value as our wages were so low.

This opportunity opens up so much for us as a family and I get to spend time at home with our two daughters now.

Literally buzzing and running away with head here.

No more scrambling for a £5 here or there through matched betting?

spongy, tempted though you may be, don't tell your current boss what to do with his job

Look your boss in the eye and hand in your notice. You know that you are more professional than him so show it. If he wants to discuss it, just explain firmly that there are no further discussions to be had. You're better than him, keep it that way.

Karma always wins in the end

100% this (or 110% if you’re a footballer). You never, ever know where and when someone you told to **** off will turn up. Leave with him wishing you’d stayed.

‘Look mate, I love it here and you know I’ve always given it my best, but this is too good an opportunity for me to turn down. Nothing personal but I have to do this for me and my family’........etc

The name gives it away
Yes I agree about not having a row, (yet), with your existing boss. Its possible your new employer might be asking for references so play it cool for now. On the day you leave you can call him a ****, but not just yet.

I would echo Watford Zero's thoughts. You don't need to leave any bad taste from unprofessional choices, the best way to make it clear is to make them feel like they have missed out once you have moved on.

Spongy, I'm delighted for you. Not just because of a new job but because of what opportunities it will create for a home for you and the family. Saving up a deposit is so tough but so worth it

Oh no. Thats still going on. Cant be arsed with the extra strategies like dutching Nand EP's. Got 3 sets of accounts so just doing reloads and bringing in around £100 a month. Thats enough for me. Got a new job now so ill just keep this ticking over...:D

I got the job.:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

I'm literally shaking and properly beaming from ear to ear.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I had a sneaky feeling they would offer me something but at a reduced rate hence why I posted this thread but they have offered £35k for 3 months rising to the full £38k thereafter.....

Thankyou all ever so much for contributing and helping. I'm completely made up and bouncing round the room.:rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave:

I owe you all a pint now I can afford to when we are all back at The Amex.:drink::drink::drink:

Thankyou all and especially to Goldstone1976 for helping directly over PM.

I'm off to get drunk

Delighted you took my advice on salary:lolol: - I couldn't get my head round why you didn't think you would be offered the advertised pay rate. Congratulations, enjoy the new job and leave the old job with good grace and gratitude. They helped you get to the next stage of your career and you just never know what turns life will take as we have all seen this year.

This.

Always try to leave employers on reasonable terms for future references. Except in exceptional circumstances eg a psycho who needs putting back in his box.

I honestly have to say that I'm really chuffed withe responses on here. I was really nervous about posting this thread as I wasn't sure on which NSC would respond, it could have have gone 1 of 2 waya but thankfully it went the way I hoped it would.

I like to think I'm a good guy and of course my resignation letter will be professional, polite and humble, I'm not someone who is in the habit of being a ****** unless I have to be.

Even though working at this place has been tough its also been at the sharp end of te hnology and state of the art machinery to use.

With my bosses consent he allowed me to go on day release so i could fund going back k to college to get proper qualifications and get my level 2 &3 nvq and c&g qualifi actions and move on to HNC Manufacturing Engineering.

If I'd have had the opportunities and promises I had been promised I would have still been working there and happy but when he hired a new bloke (without the e perience) instead of promoting me I wouldn't have started looking elsewhere. The fact I had to train and tell someone how to do the job above me really hurt.

But I cN now move on with a far better wage at a new forward thinking company who seems like they'll appreciate iate me makes me feel great.

I shall sincerely thank him for what he did but its time to move on.

Thankyou:)

I'm properly hanging out of my backside this morning. I think I'm allergic to Proseccco. I never feel this bad just drinking cider...:annoyed::down::sick:
