Resorted to thermal leggings, which is very rare for me. But still need occasional bursts of heating during the day. But surviving relatively comfortably.
Building works and new windows throughout the house last summer help, and a new CH boiler in the autumn after the old one gave up after 30 plus years.
Why don't you start drinking heavily from about 8am, then you wouldn't have to use the electric fire at all
