In a cave
I have seen a Hippo in action! They are nasty bastards. It was on the Mara river and a crocodile decided to have a pop at a baby Hippo, not a great move! Next thing we saw was the crocodile flipped on its back by the angry mother hippo and all sorts of commotion going on! Once the water calmed down the baby hippo was still bobbing along and the Crocodile had skulked off down stream!

Also this time round we saw a crocodile fest at a Zebra crossing of the Mara, until a group of Hippos turned up and the crocodiles once again bottled it!

I would vote hippo any day (and as Nicholas Soames is our local MP might have the chance to do so soon!!)

Then again the Buffalo apparently scare the hippos shi*less so perhaps they might win!

Do they actually have zebra crossings in Africa then ? I didn't know that.
What about pelicans ?

I can see why a zebra crossing was so named, and cats eyes, and probably any other animal related road equipment/signage/markings, but how the f*** did they come up with the pelican crossing?

Not sure, to be honest. If there's enough DEMAND for it, then the animal's will do BATTLE.

there is DEFINITELY enough demand for it

this year i think there should be in the style of the JPT and should be REGIONAL until fairly late, as quite a few creatures (such as the LION) were sent home early due to the luck of the draw

my suggested regional GROUPS are:-

- SNOW based creatures

- SEA based creatures

- other WATER based creatures

- the savannah

- JUNGLE

- creatures of FLIGHT

- DESERT

- OTHER

With wolverine and honey badger earning a bye to the latter stages? For their proven hardness?

That's a decent idea...however, there's probably too many groups to be going on with. I might condense it down to 3 basic groups-land, water and airbourne. Trouble is, I'm confident there's a lot of hard land based animals and not so many airbourne ones which would then lead to a lot of hard landbased animals missing out...

Perhaps it could be done like the world cupo where each qualifying group has a member of land, air and water in it plus one other? Hmmm, I'm going to have to give this careful consideration...

And the venues - a shark will always win under the sea, but a wolverine would pulverise it in a tree.

it shouldn't be who'd win in a FIGHT between the two....because as you point out, there are too many CONDITIONS that could have a heavy impact on the result

it's simply which animal is HARDEST
