Perhaps we will need your advice if we get to the Admin stage, after going through it a couple of times it will be handy to come to you and know who you shaft first to get started again.

I'd knock Barber first

Bournemouth, of course, don't own their ground. So it isn't earning them any money, but neither is it costing them anything other than rent.

As for Maxim Demin, the owner, he met previous owner Eddie Mitchell when property developer Eddie rebuilt his Sandbanks mansion. He was persuaded to buy half of the club, and bought Mitchell out completely last year. He's involved in petrochemicals, lives in Switzerland most of the year and is allegedly too superstitious to attend games in case he jinxes the team.

According to recent accounts, he has two large loans of around £8m each in the club and its holding company, but according to his chairman his total investment is much bigger than that. Whether FFP has been explained to him - and whether he cares much - is unknown.

Bloom is going hell for leather to get your losses under the £8 mill mark for the next set of accounts, but if he succeeds, that's still another big debt to add to the others. Your outgoings are still more than your incomes, and with no more family silver to flog, it's hard to see you being fully compliant with FFP in future seasons.
Relegation is looming as well, another thing that Bloom doesn't need at the moment.

Speaks a fan from a club who dodged going bust twice to "reinvent themselves", regardless of our temporary league position all Brighton fans can hold their heads high in the knowledge our football club never had to resort to going in admin to avoid being wound up. Nasty, little, misinformed spiteful posts from Palarse fans won't change that fact......

I am assuming you have some inside information regarding your comments as you seem very sure of yourself and Brighton accounts.
One thing that you have overlooked is that we have a new stadium and new training facility and new everything else so therefore we will still be off setting this against any profit or loss which would not be financially good business sense if we made out we were doing better than we were from the revenue point of view .In laymans terms for you ....Brighton would be stupid to make out they are doing better as they would pay tax ,regardless of what business it is if you make a profit you pay tax on that profit if you make a loss you dont .All Tony Blooms investments in the Albion if they are incurring interest etc etc will be offset against any future profits.Palace and other clubs were in debt through negligence not investment in bricks and mortar .

"The next set of accounts" cover the period ending in June - those accounts were long since closed off. There's no "hell for leather"ing going on in respect of that. The club were confidently on course of staying inside that, even before the sales of Bridcutt and Barnes in January. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, the club have done to 'use up' that surplus within that accounting period.

We are now in a period where the FFP-attributable loss has to be under £6m and the sales of Will Buckley and Leonardo Ulloa are certainly going to assist with that target.

What's bizarre though is seeing the supporter of a club that has repeatedly displayed financial recklessness trying to claim the moral high ground in relation to this, particularly given Palace's own record for cashing in on playing assets to support the club's finances.

Don't let the facts get in the way of another snidey little Palarse fan's manipulation of the truth, how the hell can they comment on anything remotely to do with FFP? They are one of the culprits that has brought this upon football, rack up loads of debt, get to the promised land, go into admin and start all over again. Hopefully the game will be up for clubs like them now, I hope for footballs sake clubs like Palarse never get the chance to cheat their way to the top again.

Bournemouth seem to reach this level every 25 years or so,stay a season or 2 and drop back down..

The Amex and the infrastructure is in place to see us prosper in the medium to longer term,if managed correctly, with or without major outside financial assistance to achieve prolonged Championship level status.

Exactly the point I am trying to make.

When I started up my business a long while ago I was not in profit for quite a few years as I bought machinery ,I invested in premises and people, etc etc the list goes on and in turn did not pay tax for a number of years, this is not saying I wasnt making money but I was just reinvesting ,when I started making a profit the first thing my accountant said was you need to reinvest as it will be off set against any profit you make so your better off having equipment new premises etc than paying it in tax, as by reinvesting this will in turn grow your business and you will have more assets and the business will be worth more and the tax man will be paying for it ..it is called tax avoidance not tax evasion and it is how it is done and how business grows...do you see where I am going Se20.Mr Bloom has invested in a football club and a stadium and a training ground which because it is new will have implications for years on the tax they have to pay ,he and other business`s would be commiting financial suicide if they showed they were doing well or ok on a new business .

I agree.

We struggled to compete in the modern era at this level (not withstanding the current plight) with Withdean,go back further and we clung to our very existence with averages of 2,500 & 3,200 at Gillingham in the basement, gates i may add that even the Cherrie's would be proud of at that level and we were playing 70 miles away..

Go back further still, and in the First Division 1979-83 we lacked seats,we only had the West and top tier of the South and thanks to a fire after the Middlesborough game we went all seater in the South stand even then we only had 5000 seats and had to add the Lego stand.....

The seats were worth more income, even though at the time the Goldstone had a relatively high capacity..

Everything we have now should ensure we stabilize at this level,no guarantee either but would i swap with AFC Bournemouth? no..

Even if we go down,we have something Bournemouth does not,30,000 plus seats in League 1.....

Again no guarantee, but do well and be at the top of that division and a full Amex could generate a lot of income for a promotion push.

Given that nothing discussed on this thread so far has anything whatsoever to do with you, and that us taking financial advice from Crystal Palace Football Club is about as likely as the leader of ISIS popping over for mulled wine and mince pies at the Downing Street Christmas carol service this year, I respectfully request that you go and poke yourself in a quiet corner somewhere and leave this thread well alone, you sanctimonious Palace ignoramus.

Possibly, although I believe that Howe would be getting more out of Burke's players than Sami presently is.

He didn't get much out of the Burnley players, for what it's worth, despite signing a fair few of his ex-Bournemouth chums.
