I've previously mentioned this before.
A couple of seasons ago when we were away to Watford, I was walking to Vicarage Road, wearing my Albion shirt and holding hands with my WIFE.
When this little scrote decided to shout at me, "Where's your boyfriend"
I just looked at him and laughed, whilst in my head was fvck off you tw@t.
I'm bald as a coot, which obviously means I'm gay.
These mindless fvckwits are clueless, uneducated and just shout this stuff out, as a last resort, because their tiny brains cannot compute!!

None of it is acceptable. The OP said disgusting homophobic abuse. And Napper thinks it's fine. I hear 'man up' incoming. FFS

Probably just because you wore Albion colours.

The delinquent’s limited brain capacity picturing a neat overlapping Venn diagram of a Brighton fan = gay.

Pity him for being as thick as :shit:

On a humorous side, I remember going to watch the last LOTR film at the Crumbles in Eastbourne, with my brother in law, who is also bald as a coot.
We sat right at the front and got the feeling that people were looking at us in an odd way

From memory your wife is lovely:rolleyes:

Yep, still is, thanks for reminding me :wink:

The late running 1814 I think it was Falmer to Brighton was delayed by the cord being pulled and the driver mocking fans didn't help, nor did the 'brave' little westhamlet 'fans' giving it al large to the ordinary Brighton fans (no offence intended by ordinary by that I mean families no one looking for a fight etc) Seriously abusing anyone they could see with an Albion shirt hat whatever and totally unnecessary swaying forwards towards some older fans as if to annoy. Pathetic really as was the idiot that started having a go at the stewards and police before being taken away just before entering the platform. What an idiot even his mates couldn't stop his big mouth. Loads of big foul mouthed animals. On par with Chelsea and Palace. They probably seemed worse than Palace simply because the police keep Palace fans away from Brighton fans, whereas plenty of WHU fans mixed with BHA fans on the way to the station. I think its about time these away fans from London clubs were held back at FT.

Nobody should have to put up with this. The onus is not on me, if someone screams homophobic abuse at me, to have to decide if it's a threat, if he really think's I'm 'a poof', whether I should run or fight, or brazen it out. This is a public space. CCTV it, and charge them. Life bans from football being the standard penalty.

Christ, I pity the families of a tiny number of morons on here, shrugging it off as nothing. It must be like living with Alf Garnett. West Ham in disguise, perhaps. I hope thay are just sad old men because it would be ****ing embarrassing to have that sort of attitude if you're under 40.

Some accept it and some don't

On a separate subject, how's the asparagus?
Ours have been fantastic this year, lovely in a risotto :)

Record numbers. 50% up!

Anyway, I'll leave it, now. I hate it when people excuse the oafs and bullies, implying a weakness in the rest of us.

I suspect the ‘water off a seagull’s back’ group are not homosexual or trans and have no idea of the lived experience of this section of our fans. It should be called out like racism is.

Did anyone report to the Police do you know? Or are we just getting angry about in here? Btw, your sneering is wide of the mark to for what’s it’s worth but hey do carry on with your misguided assumptions.

Lots of aggravation from Wet Sham fans in the post match train queue, very much exacerbated by the long frustrating wait between trains. When will we finally get a proper train service to and from the ground?

Homophobic abuse is treated as a hate crime in the courts in the same way as racism. By all means ignore it but remember many gay people commit suicide because of constant abuse. It isn’t ‘getting precious’ to be upset about it.

Sad to hear this. What are the statistics? Ie How big is the problem? It’s a very complex matter so interested to know more, the Albion could even be part of a campaign highlighting how many gay fans kill themselves each year because of abuse at football matches for example?

Plenty of West Ham at the John Harvey Tavern, in the train to and from the Amex. Happy to report I heard nothing untoward. Wonderful day

The fans-to-dickheads ratio was easily the highest I have seen this season. Incidents on the way there and back on the trains, loads of argy-bargy, homophobic abuse, scuffles, individuals "bravely" calling out BHA fans with the old arms-open-wide gestures after they'd got through the train barriers at Falmer, some bloke grasping what apparently turned out to be his own son by the throat as stewards and police tried to separate them. Just an awful lot of highly wound-up, aggressive blokes absolutely spoiling for some aggro.

They were much worse than Palace.

There is no comparison, Palace are minor league when it comes to aggro; they are just black hoodies a few pyros and a bunch of stupid songs. Wet Sham have a large following of real meat-heads.

Heard a few singing “Brighton’s a shithole, I wanna go home” while stood in the train queue at Brighton to go to the stadium, which rather begged the question “well why don’t you, you can literally see the London train”

the abuse at the station was in front of young kids. i was there and heard it.

Are there any Police at the station these days? Seems for lots of London teams inc Chelsea and Palace too that there isn’t and surprise surprise abuse and even reports of visiting fans peeing off the bridge earlier in the season which is an altogether different level of abuse if true! But if no Plod present, surely the solution is obvious?

Were a couple hovering by the gate, one by the ticket machines and several outside more interested in marshalling the queue than anything at Brighton on the way in. Way back I didn’t see any beyond the “no alcohol” line bar the usual one on the smaller footbridge, just private security.

Looking at that sunburn, perhaps the young man can’t afford their home kit and is making use of the strong sunshine to turn claret permanently?
