Isn't Ritchie 'the Bear' Barker now in charge at Bury?
Yep, and he hasn't picked Holroyd in his games. I suspect that has helped in bringing him back.

I hope we don't go too weak, I want to go unbeaten at home and get 100.

Personally, I wouldn't like to play any of the players that are going to be released at the end of the season like Holroyd in the final home games, it would be nice to stay unbeaten at Withdean.

...and you know he's going to be released how?

Why oh why is Gus so keen to see the players 'not given a chance' this season to see what they can do in the final few games?. lsn't it already pretty obvious that pretty much ALL of these players will be surplus to requirements come the end of the season?. lf they cant make the team in League 1, they sure wont make it in the Championship. Plus, as earlier posts have said, wouldnt it be great to remain the only undefeated team in the entire league for the season?. Surely much more chance of achieving that goal with the current tried and tested players, than fielding a largely experimental line-up.

Yes l know the boys are tired, but l'm sure the little diddums can manage just six more games, with the carrot of winning the Champiionship at the end of them!.

Pretty sure Holroyd is under contract until the end of NEXT season, so not sure how people think he can be 'released'...

I'm pretty sure he's not. Even if he is, he could still be released, same as Craig Davies was last summer.

I think the point is, he was loaned to Bury to get some games. If they don't want to play him he is wasting his time there and may as well be back in Brighton.

I think it would be more beneficial to give adgestein (sp?) a run out. I would like to caskey and dunk get a few games as well.

Hark at all the know it alls on here. If Gus sees something in Holroyd maybe you should give him the benefit of the doubt. Adam (f***ing liabilty according to most on here ) El Abd being the best example of a player who everyone was up in arms about when he got a contract ahead of Nicky Forster. What a binfest that was :lolol:

Just a wild guess but maybe Knill had suggested a loan now with a view to a permanent deal in the summer. That was certainly how it sounded but with the change of manager that clearly isn't going to happen now.

In those circumstances I think Gus would be right to bring Holroyd back. One - because he would be feeling pretty miffed at Bury for reneging on a "deal", particularly because he could have used him as the makeweight in a deal to get Hoskins had he known; and two - because he can now help positively to get the lad fixed up with a deal rather than just dumping him at the end of the season.

Surely everybody Gus included can see that after our regular 3 strikers, Murray, Barnes and Wood we have nothing that looks remotely like making a go of it in the Championship.

Holroyd and Sandaza arent good enough for Crawley yet alone a team that aims to do reasonably well in The Championship.

They all chip in with goals though. If you'd looked at our squad at the beginning of the season would you have honestly envisaged where we are now with our collection of cast off's and freebies!
