Albion may sign striker From The Argus)

Talking about Barnes' injury it looks like Gus has provided the answer to any questions about Chris Holroyd's future.........Bye-bye it is then.

"It looks like it was written in the script that Chris Holroyd would never play for us again. He was on fire and I had a feeling he would help us, then the strikers started scoring goals for fun. He didn’t even make the squad three or four times and he has got to play but now Ash has got injured.”

Some you win. I liked the guy but sometimes you have to move on and find another path. Good luck to him - he will fit in somewhere and it will click. But that wasn't going to be at BHA.

Having read the article, another point is that Gus says Glenn is tired. He has been the lynch pin up front this season. Scoring loads but creating so much for others and is always an out if the defence need to lump one forwards. He needs to be protected because he will be critical to the run in.

Not in my opinion Everest. We've got Sandaza and Toby, I feel if Fran gets 2/3 matches for 90 minutes he'd do really well. No need to sign anyone else for the sake of 2 matches.

He ran himself into the ground for the team on Saturday - absolutely fantastic performance IMO and the best all-round game I have seen him play but whether he can recover to play a full part tomorrow night has to be doubtful.

Because we are so close to winning the ultimate prize I think he has to start alongside Wood no matter what and we need to go all out for early goals so he can get off as quickly as possible and rest. I think he will be playing alongside Sandaza against Swindon and against Daggers (Wood will surely only be a sub when he gets back after two 9000 mile flights in a few days). My thought is to start Noone as the third man up front playing a little wider and chasing back in the same way that Barnes often does.

give the viking a go........fran and tobes up front for the first half , see how it goes........bring muzza on at half time if we are struggling , if ashley is out for a month we need cover imho..preferably championship goal sneek.

Are we really THAT desperate?

if he wants to rest murray, then id say we will be struggling a little bit - i really wouldnt want us to be going into the run in playing either sandaza who only ever looks good from the bench and an untried youngster alongside wood

I think you'll find he meant sign them from the Argus ? Every need to sign someone for the run in, love them or hate them Saints had good backup from the bench Sat'day. You might have faith in Sandanza, but wouldn't do my heart much good watching him for 90 minutes, don't think now is the right time to blood Toby either.

Whoosh.

Who do you suggest Everest? Can Naylor play a bit?

I reckon we'll get a loan striker in, and that Sandaza will start in some of the home games. Possibly against the crap teams (on paper), so I expect Sandaza to start against one or two of the Notts, Daggers and Wednesday home games.

Exactly. Just because it didn't click here doesn't make him a bad striker. Just take a look at the season Davies is having at Chesterfield. He's played like that before and after his time at teh Albion, but for whatever reason, it wasn't to be at the Albion. Could be the same for Holroyd.

Havent seen Adgestein play but do not hold much hope if Sandaza is our main striker, should anything happen to Murray. I think that Fran is an ideal sub but would hope that we will bring in somebody for 1 month.

Why only as a sub? What are you basing this on? You might be right but he derserves a chance based on the number of goals he has scored against minutes played.
