Are B&HA not going to own the new Falmer Stadium? I understand that it's only through Tony Bloom's investment that it is being built, but who will own it? You must forgive me if these are questions no Brighton fan would ask, but obviously I'm neither a Seagulls supporter nor living in the South. I am, however, very interested in your club at the moment.

As far as i understand the ground is owned by a seperate company, but this company is still owned by Bloom, no doubt someone better informed will give a better answer.

Incidentally why are you interested in our club at the moment?

I understand 'the Community Stadium ltd' will own the stadium, which is a seperate company to the club, but with similar majority ownership (I'm sure others will correct me if I am wrong).

The stadium would have been built in any case, the fact that we have a wealthy benefactor who is thankfully a fan is a bonus. I'm sorry to say that you have very little idea of what is going on here but we'll let you off.
As has been said before, you don't seriously believe this do you?

It was obvious from the minute that the banking crisis took hold that Falmer wasn't going to get built using money borrowed from a financial institution. Without Bloom, we'd be applying for another 5 years at Withdean and Knight and Perry would have looked utterly ridiculous.

It was the appointment of Poyet that triggered my interest in B&HA. I noted his input at Leeds United, and that things rather fell apart there when he left to join Juande Ramos at Spurs. I was waiting to see which club would offer him his first post as number one, and felt yours was the perfect club at the right time; with Tony Bloom having recently taken over and Falmer becoming a reality. I shall be following The Seagulls progress closely next season, providing Gus signs his new contract, which I'm confident he will.

How can people say he is not worth his wages????
We have no idea what he would be paid!
If he signs he is on an acceptable wage so the money thing is an irrelevant worry.

carefull now, thats dangerously close to a rational and well thought out arguement, and we dont care for such things round here :wrong:

we must make sure we hang on to the decent players we've got (and also that they're not pissed off by the massive salaries we're paying to the newcomers) so players like Bennett should have their contracts re-negotiated and their wages significantly increased.

ooh yeah

let's go down the crystal palace/portsmouth route and just splash the cash even if we don't have it to spend :wozza:

Agree 100%. Would be a great signing. His passing ability offers something which the vast majority of midfielders in the division don't have. Worried that QPR will have offered him more money, surely?

agreed

if he wants to come here and a deal can be done which satisfies both parties then he would be an asset.

At QPR he knows he is likely to play second fiddle to Ambrose whereas here he can lead the orchestra - a player with that attitude is what we need and want

Absolutely. We need to be competitive and so we should use clubs like Palace, Portsmouth, Leeds, Leicester, etc as our role models. Portsmouth are an especially good example of a modern club: FA Cup win, another final appearance, European campaign, and what did it cost them? Nine points which meant nothing as they'd have been relegated anyway. And IF the gamble fails, and despite the fact that our problems would have been entirely self-inflicted, we'd get LOADS of sympathy from dumb fans of other clubs who'd be too stupid to see that we've been shafting them.

I find certain individuals aptitude for getting "facts" completely wrong utterly overwhelming at times.

Without the support of Mr Bloom, our new stadium would be as distant as the golden naked hippie era of yonder yesteryear. Pure fantasy, brothers and sisters... pure fantasy.

Get him in and pay him what he wants, same applies to anybody else Poyet fancies. We're never going to challenge for promotion unless we SERIOUSLY increase the quality in the squad and that means spending money. Lots of money. In addition we must make sure we hang on to the decent players we've got (and also that they're not pissed off by the massive salaries we're paying to the newcomers) so players like Bennett should have their contracts re-negotiated and their wages significantly increased.

Are you :fishing: If not your a bellend.

Get him in but don't break the bank, he's good but not worth risking peeing everyone else off!

I can't believe some people don't want us to sign LEE HENDRIE. Are you serious?

Do you honestly not think that, with a full pre-season behind him, England International Lee Hendrie won't be up to the job in a division that is two tiers below that in which he has spent the majority of his career. Jesus Christ, I'd love to know which players you would want us to sign. Cesc Fabregas perhaps? Or would League One be "too physical" for him.

Hendrie is a experienced player who knows he is no longer at the peak of his profession but can still play at this level for the next 2 years , worth a gamble.

get real frank. without bloom's money, and despite what some say on here, there was little or no chance of the finance being raised.
