Frustration, heat of the moment etc.

Just like the frustration caused by people on here who were not at the game having a go at those that went for booing the player (not aimed at yourself as I saw you there).

In my frustration and heat of the moment I had a shouting match with a bloke not far from me because of the abuse he was giving Hendo.
I will never abuse a Brighton player because not one of them would deliberately make a mistake.

Not sure I said that, but you question whether they are fans and yet during the game you were on here. Fans do try to go to games.

Yes, they do.

I don't get to many/any away games. The last being the 5-1 Reading reverse. I only have so much money to spend on football, as I am saving up for a flat deposit, so I would prefer to put that all into Brighton, rather than another football club.

But either way, booing a player when he has been brave enough and acknowledged that he has let himself/the team/the fans down, whether out of frustration or wanting Kuipers back or whatever, is poor form. Just my take on it.

But rightly or wrongly people were frustrated and some took that frustration out on Henderson.

I am sorry but I find it a bit rich that people that made the effort to go to the game are flamed by people that did not go. Just my view.

Fair enough. I should have held my tongue, but it got my goat a bit. Going through a rough patch and in need of everyone to pull together. I just felt that one doesn't need to be a witness of the incident to realise that it is not constructive and very harsh on the player.

A young team needs confidence......

Consider that my last word on the topic!

Room for a London Irish smiley :)

henderson has had his chance
he was put in because he is good at distributing the ball. over the last 6 games he hasnt been able to kick consistantly.
he is not a better shot stopper than kuipers and kuipers has a better command over the defence.

there was nearly another disaster in gthe 1st half when all henderson had to do was shout at el bd to leave a long ball over the top and he would have picked it up safely.
instead of shouting for keepers ball, he said nothing and stood on his line. el abd let the ball go over the top and had to chase back, then henderson came out with out shouthing, and then collided with el abd as he just cleared it for a throwing

the mistake at the end was ridiculous, he was trying to waste time i guess by controlling it, but then slipped.
the striker did well to score having to take it round henderson and put it past sam rents from a tight angle

henderson was brave enough to apologise and come over to the fans, but its a mistake that could deflate all confidence. lost 4 in a row and lost to a team in the relegation zone. also they were the better team

Just read the comments from the players and Wilkins you will see that they don't blame Henderson, these things happen he SLIPPED.

Its what a (vocal) minority of our fans have been hoping would happen for ages and they got there wish and we will now never hear the end of it. What is going to happen at Upton Park when Henderson makes a few saves that keep us in the game?

I think those who are hoping that Kuipers will play at Upton Park will be disappointed as I can't see Wilkins being dictated to by fans opinion.

Looking at it different he may well feel Henderson doesn't need to be exposed to the abuse again and may give him a week or two off to get over it. All depends on how Hendo feels I guess.

Exactly, as I said on this thread earlier I would rather FDM in goal, but that is my view I've held for some time, not a knee jerk reaction to a "shit happens" moment. Nobody screws up on purpose, least of all an international goalkeeper. He will be starting on Saturday, as to drop him now would really damage his confidence, and ironiclly will probably lead to him having a blinder. I would like to see Michel for Bristol City and Millwall games though, for one I believe he deserves his chance, and 2 the grief that Hendo will get from Millwall may not help his game, especially as it will be the first home match after yesterday.

He won't be able to hear the Millwall supporters in the Hove end.

:lolol:

Although let's not forget that it was the Millwall supporters who won the game for them last year, with their booing and heckling at half time, enforcing changes and attitudes to the Millwall team. Arguably turning our season round.

Good to see you back though ;)
