Ok guys....completely off topic but know you are a sensible and wise bunch.

Have just bought a house and am contemplating installing some sort of entertainment/sound system throughout the house.
Couple of issues I am mulling over.....

Do I hard wire speakers into the ceilings in each room and wire them back to some kind of control suite?
Or
Should I go for a wireless system such as the Sonos speaker and bridge package??

Don't want to spend silly money but while the house is in bits am thinking now is the time to install!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You could ask on a home entertainment forum rather than a football one? It's called common sense

This isn't just a football forum though you sarcy git.

I'd go for wireless as the sound quality from ceiling speakers isn't that great in my experience.

I have Sonos ZP120 and it is class, although I don't have any other consoles as of yet because I dont really have the need. I have 1TB NDS (hard drive) linked up and a premium account with Spotify, all controlled from my iPhone.

I would recommend Sonos.

None of the above.

For future proofing, I'd look to hard-wire ethernet cabling throughout your house which will ensure you can push whatever you want, including hi-def video, around the house as required.

High volumes of data via wireless is S-L-0-W.

That would be the best option I agree, may be too pricey though?

It depends on what else you may be doing in the house. If any electrics and/or plasterwork is being done anyway, then it would be worth popping in some cabling at the same time.

what is the sound like in comparison to something like a BOSE docking station?
Also do you need decent broadband?

In all seriousness, I can't understand you feel that asking football fans is going to be more help than asking on a dedicated forum? Maybe it's just me...

Mate I ain't joining an entertainment forum.....!
Also can you stop commenting on 'non-football related' threads please.

Believe it or not we're not all one-dimensional football fans, so maybe it is just you. I've actually found this place more helpful on certain topics than dedicated forums full of nerds who just confuse the hell of most normal people.

I have custom speakers but the sound is decent, tbh most of the music I listen to comes through the NDS (which is attached via ethernet) but when I do listen to Spotify I dont notice a massive difference, although I'm not a audiophile! I have approx 6mb broadband connection.
