I`ve got a pair of Sennheisers and some JLab plugs but recently bought some JBL foldable over ear cans for half price ( only cost £60) and they are unbelievable for battery life and sound quality , very comfy too . There`s a lot of choice out there but for a cheap but good and reliable entry level JBL are tough to beat  (sorry) . Good luck .

Not wishing to be an old misery guts - but surely if your son is going on holiday, then he should be taking in all the sights and sounds of travelling and meeting people. I find headphones quite off-putting for this!

Inspired by this thread i needed some new budget headphones,

these Soundcore ones were 29.99 yesterday so bagged a pair!! Back to 50 notes today https://amzn.eu/d/6Jw4j3q

Honestly for the money these are great even at 50. Probably not up there for audiophile types but the sound on them is banging, noise reduction pretty decent, better than my old skull candy at triple the price, and probably better than the last Sony pair I had in terms of sound and comfort, I forget the model that was though.

Seems today/limited time this version, which has better reviews than the Q20 I got today are 32 pounds, so if someone's after a real budget deal I reckon it's a winner, well impressed

Deal: soundcore by Anker Q20i Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Foldable Headphones, Wireless Over-Ear Bluetooth, 40H Long ANC Playtime, Hi-Res Audio, Big Bass, Customize via an App, Transparency Mode https://amzn.eu/d/43Wiew8

My only suggestion is you pay for what you get I would go beats

You often get what you pay for, but beats are overpriced due to the branding.

I'd rather get Sennheiser (and there are other good brands too). I'm not sure what's best for £100.

Highly recommend Soundcore ,wife and I both use them and really happy with them . Good sound ,long battery life and cheap . Use mine every day and never had a problem

I also bought Soundcore the Q30 when they were on offer. Superb and well rated. Bought noise cancelling so I could also use on the plane and hear something (hopefully).
