Haye did what he needed to do to win I suppose. Not much of a spectacle though, and I was certainly glad I didn't pay for it. Fact is, neither fighter was EVER in the slightest bit of trouble at any point during the entire fight. They could have gone and done another 12 rounds by the end of it, there wasn't a mark on either of them.

I am a grumpy bastard though. I openly acknowledge this.

Proved again!

Haye wouldnt have stood a chance if he'd gone to war.

By way of comparison would you expect the Albion to "try" to play open, attacking football with 3 up front against Arsenal if we get them in the 3rd round of the Cup??! Thought not!

:lolol: Where did you dig that up from ?

Look, I acknowledge Haye did what he needed to do. But it WAS a bit of a let-down as a spectacle, no ?

I recall you were involved in the Jenson Button thread and couldnt remember if you were pro or con. Spotted your quote there. As it happens I was with you on Button!

On Haye, it was never going to be a spectacle and always about the result. Was at the O2 for his demolition of Maccaraneli(sp?). That was a spectacle, but only lasted 4 minutes! Ticket was £90, so that's £22.50 per minute, but you take your chances and was great to own the Welsh in the audience!

Phew! I'm just glad Haye won.

Watched it in a very dingy London pub with some right lunatics near us.A table of drinks got knocked over when Haye landed a good punch early on.If Valuev had won that fight the pub would've been trashed.Obviously a 'firm' that was coming back from a match. We didn't ask who they were. Some of them must've put a lot of money on Haye.

Haye has a big West Ham following. Could have been ICF you were drinking with!!
