Didn't stop the bloke getting the shot away though, and his shot having been saved went sidewides so how was he going to then put it back in?

But if he was pulling him back DURING his first attempt at goal, regardless of whether he got his "shot off", in the eyes of the law Hawkins has denied a goalscoring opportunity.

By that theory every single penalty would result in a sending off

It's a professional foul though, from a goalscoring position.
sorry, but if you exclude the keeper, who else was between the attacker and the goal? It doesn't matter if there was someone else closer to the goal line on the other side of the area as they would not be able to intercept.

I think it was still harsh. Had he sent him off for encroaching during the game or having a big nose I could understand it a bit more.

If you look again, one of our players (whing?) was right over the far side near the linesman playing the guy onside.
I had to keep repeating the clip but he was there!

He wouldn't have been ON the pitch of the plonker of a referee hadn't already had his red card out.
Supporting the Albion can sometimes be very hard without some of these attention seeking jerks wanting to take centre stage.Nasty little martinet ruined the game as a match and he should be returned to reffing park football.
Just my correct opinion ,like,seeing as there wasn't a bad foul in the game and all.

How can you say that Elpick didnt deserve to be sent off?
The second Yellow was a CLEAR foul! Even if the first one was a bit 50-50 he knew that he was on a yellow and still dived in from behind on the halfway line! It was a STUPID challenge and deserved a yellow!

What I'm saying is that those type of fouls do not warrant yellow cards (bookings) and if they did every game would end up as eight a sides,or need to be abandoned.Tackles and challenges like these are not exactly life or career threatening and far too many refs go for their cards too quickly.I'm going to say it,I am:since yellow and red cards replaced the book coming out,more and more players have ended up being "disciplined" for trivia.It makes refs lazy,and spoils games.Where else in the football league were three players sent off for such petty infringements.Hellfire,one ref nearly had his head lifted off by a player and just got calmed down and spoken t
