Yes, unprecedented in September. But I'm all for evidence based policy and it was nippy for the 2 of us working from home, so I fired up the boiler "just to make sure it's all still working".

This morning for me. Always good to give the boiler a run before it gets too cold and make sure all the radiators circulate etc.

Warm and toasty house within half an hour. Wife came in and opened the windows. ???

What, in September? Can't see it it going on until the turn of the year. Might have to put a jumper on soon, but the heating? Really?

Thermostat set to 18 degrees, it came on in the night (the lounge has the thermostat in & the door closed at night). I judged it up to 18.5 earlier in the lounge as I was cold sitting here. Keeping the back door open for the dog has officially ended.

Never mind the issue of whether heating on, my supplier Bulb has just emailed me suggesting I need to top up the credit on my account. Is that a good idea?

Me too.. want me to up it by £45pm, even tho i'm £170 in credit..

Been told to expect £20pm increase in costs from October, but rather money in MY bank than theirs..

I was considering it this afternoon but strangely, it seems to have warmed up over the last few hours. I'm sure the fact that I've been baking and cooking in the kitchen all afternoon has had no effect whatsoever

I must be a wimp, as we've had the central heating on for a hour today and yesterday too, to take the damp chill off the air in our home. It's June FFS.

I mean I know it's not exactly summer weather, but I still have windows open and sat in a t-shirt!

Likewise ..but with no tumble dryer it may be switched on if the current crappy weather carries on, purely to get the washing dry ..personally I don’t want it on ..firstly I am happy in shorts n T shirt (even outside in a bit of rain)..secondly I pay the bill!
