Had a Club Wembley ST for the first 10 seasons at new Wembley at one of the prime Club Wembley seats then the cheeky b***s doubled the price and move me a block away from corner flag so that was that. Most memorable were the two games against Croatia, 2-3 and 5-1.

My solitary away game was at St Etienne in the infamous round of 16 match in 1998. I was interviewed by Argentinian TV ("What do you think of Maradona?" "He's a jolly good chap, and very good with his hands") and had a seat at the end right in line of Owen's goal, and the penalties.

It isn't a big stadium and I recall looking out just after Sol Campbell could have put us 3-2 up to see a woman struggling across the road with two heavy bags of shopping, totally oblivious to the unfolding drama a few metres away.

Was lucky enough to do France 98, two great weeks in my VW Camper. We were at the group game against Romania (last-minute defeat). Then in St Etienne for the Argentina game (Beckham red card, lost on pens).

Then Portugal 2004… lost 2-1 to France (conceded TWO in last TWO minutes)… anybody noticing a pattern here?!?!
Redeemed partly by seeing us beat Croatia 4-1, Rooney on fire!

Happy days!!

The Avenue then Maloncho
Several, although probably only one in the last 15 years.

Good: 4-1 v Holland

Bad: 2-3 v Croatia

Ugly: 3-0 v Andorra (away) It pissed down and was freezing cold. Everyone was underdressed!

England v Cameroon with the Junior Seagulls in 1991. Freezing cold night and Gary Pallister got subbed on, ran five yards, slipped on the frozen pitch and broke his wrist.

England v USA - Dunk's debut. Was in The Bobby Moore Club with Club Wembley through work hosting clients. Wasn't going to miss that one.

Been to quite a few Wembley homes, schoolboy games with my club when I played as a kid, Gazza England B at the Goldstone and the game (U21?) March played in at The Amex, plus England Women v New Zealand also at the Amex.

Not been away but have a few mates who’ve watched us all over the planet.

Honestly don’t understand how you can be an English football fan and not support England. We’re probably the only country that does that.
I think that was the one where folk not in the know thought England were New Zealand for the match as they played in white and England played in black.

Just the one match at the old wembley and Southgate was playing, fowler and Adams scoring to win 2-0 against Ukraine. The stewards nearly had me out, as the caught me swigging from my hip flask. Scholes and Beckham looked so small. Scholes was quality.

My England international attendance career coincides with Howard Wilkinson's international management career.

1999

lost 0-2 to France.

they were better.

Didn't particularly enjoy it.

Seen a few at both the old and new Wembleys, including the famous draw against Poland with the clown goalie, and was at Old Trafford for the Greece game when Beckham scored the free kick.
Took in games at Marseille (that one was a bit hairy) and Toulouse in 1998 which are the only ones abroad.

The last time I saw NSC's old poster Mr Blobby (who by nature of his ultra running is probably far from blobby now) was on the train to Sapporo in 2002 for the Argentina game.

Plenty of others home and away - France, Greece and a friendly in Malta with a week's poolside holiday added on for good measure. The 1-5 in Munich was the best though, not least because Mr and Mrs Owen walked into the bar we were in during the afternoon and said that they were 'quietly confident' about England's chances that night. Day trip from Gatwick straight after the Northampton away game which we'd lost 2-0 - £280 in first class return to Munich with the Travel Club. VFM.

Looking forward to rejoining the Travel Club and doing all that stuff again soon after Southgate's imminent departure. :)

England Schoolboys game when I was a kid, and a WC Qualifier (I think) v Khazakstan, plus the women’s games at the Amex. Sat at the back of the top tier at Wembley, players looked like ants. Have no great desire to go to any England games there again.

Only been once, Vs Egypt at Wembley 2010. Didnt enjoy it much despite the win, and put me right off going again. The band was pretty close behind us, and the inter-club rivalry from fans to players i found really odd.
