I've been to four at Wembley (three qualifiers and a really boring friendly against Nigeria) and one at St Mary's against Kosovo, and a few u21s games. I vaguely remember seeing a young Frank Lampard play in a u21 game against Luxembourg at the Madejski, I still have the programme somewhere.

I have a few mates that go home and away and have done the last five major tournaments, I'd love to go along but I just can't do Wembley on a frequent enough basis to get the 'caps'. The football is usually dull, the atmosphere is awful and the transport is diabolical.

Only in England when the boys were young, coach trips with the U10s etc. Wouldn't bother currently unless I came into some money! Rather watch England on TV and spend on going to Brighton games than the other way round.

First time was warm up game at Wembley in 1966, school trip up and saw Bobby Charlton score a wonder goal if I recall correctly against Yugoslavia and second time was a week or so ago in Frankfurt vs Denmark, interestingly was part of the red wall with my son happily supporting the danes (I lived in Denmark for nearly 25 years and the likes of Laudrup, Elkjaer, Lerby etc got me to fall for the danish way of football)

I voted no and I don’t want to. I might have done in the past but life was more complicated. But now the prospect (and the team/manager) doesn’t excite me.

Just 2.

England 1-1 Brazil in 1987on a junior seagulls’ trip. Goals from Mirandinha and Lineker.

England 2-1 Ukraine in 2009, in a WC qualifier. Very late John Terry winner.

A few in England at least one abroad, (Charleroi) my company sponsored them. Best one got Steve Foster to sign prog. v Ireland, chucked it when he went to Villa regretted it when he came back!

Just looked up the Eire game I went to on a school trip….lots of Albion future, and at the time, connections in the Ireland team.

Starting going around 1987 and ended up joining a group that were going to Euro 88 in Germany, great experience but a hell of a lot of trouble but didn't witness any of it.
Went to all three england group games (Van Basten hat-trick) and the West Germany/Holland semi final which was a great game/experience standing in the Dutch end at Hamburg.
Go to the occasional home game now when a mate has a spare but generally can't be arsed anymore.

First tournament I went to was Spain 82 - was behind the goal when Bryan Robson scored.

Mexico 86, one of my mates (he was a brickie) met a Mexican girl, stayed, got married and became an English teacher!

A while back I tried to remember all of the England games I've been to. It helped that for most I either had a paper ticket or programme. I also included some comments... like...

And of course, The Wally with the Brolly

The Wardy hat-trick at the Goldstone v Norway. There must have been many more in the Goldstone that night than the official capacity.

Only full England game was a qualifier v Poland at the old Wembley.
