I saw the Washington womens soccer team play someone when I was over there. Was quite weird seeing 6000 odd people watching womens football. It was a good enjoyable game though to be fair.
Seen about a dozen games in Cyprus, league games mostly but Also saw CY v France in Euro qualifier, Zidane et al, Cyprus were leading at half time. Also watched Perth play Melbourne a couple of years back. Seen a few games in Scottieland too .
Caught the first Singapore SLeague play off final and cup final. Both games were between Geylang v Singapore Armed Forces and the standard wasn't great.
And I'm trying to time a break to Lake District to catch Carlisle game
Yup, seen a few games on my travels, some trips were specifically to see a match others were taken in as an aside to the holiday if you get my drift:
Seen Hertha BSC play around Germany. Been to 5 games in France, 3 in Italy, been to Standard Liege and Brussels (saw an international there) in Belgium, 3 in Holland and saw England play in Azerbaijan and also that rubbish game against Russia in Moscow.
I also went to see Honved play last July....but went to the wrong ground.
I was on holiday in Vietnam and the Womens' Asian Championship happened to be on at the same time. Went to a stadium in Ho Chi Minh City that had a capacity of 25,000 and saw Australia lose to Japan 3-1 in front of a crowd of about 300.
AEK Athens v Cologne (EUFA cup) in September 1982. Cologne had Harald Schumacher in goal and even in Greece he was booed whenever he had the ball - followed by a chant of 'Kolonia.....f*ck off'. Seems that phrase has transcended the English.
Only once, i went to The New Forest in 1999 and we went for a day out in Bournemouth and ended up at Bournemouth v Chesterfield from what i can remember it was one of the best 0-0s i've ever seen had everything apart from a goal
Early 80s while on holiday in Majorca, lucky enough to see the mighty Seagulls play against Real Madrid!! I didn't know about the game until a couple of days before!!
Feyenoord v Vitesse Arnhem whilst visiting ex-in-laws in Rotterdam. Turned out it was Johnny Metgod's retirement and he got a standing ovation when subbed 3 mins before the end - older viewers will remember who he is.
Saw us play Longford, Athlone & Galway if that counts.
Went to Sparta Prague - Liberecs a few years ago and managed to find myself in the away end by mistake.
Also saw Espanyol getting hammered by Celta Vigo.
