A bit late for that - I remembered the quick way.

Repeatedly popping into perfectly decent Albion specific threads to be sarcastic and/or provocative is not on. We give Palace fans far more leeway than visiting fans to their site get - some are starting to abuse our generous hospitality.

Good call, there's banter and there's taking the piss.

Fair play.................never a bad call

but Nigel is far from the worst culprit as I'm sure we all recognise

It was a meaningless pre season game, I'm sure you'll be up for it the start of the season. At least your 1st team gave a strong Hastings side a decent workout in the first half.

Some sense at last, full credit to Hastings though it was not meaningless to them i hope they do well in the coming season

It thought most if not all BHA players were playing well within themselves today. The senior players were doing not much more than I'd expect to see at a training session.

KLL wasn't attempting to skin the right back all the time, for the sensible reason that he didn't want to be hacked down by a Ryman league defender and risk 3 months out of the game. Vicente was at half-speed most of the time. The defence had nothing to do until the development squad came on. Harley had a chance to prove the doubters wrong but looked a hit haphazard, though I suspect there's a quality player underneath the facade.

Balmy looks like he'll be a good signing. That was the main conclusion.

Fair play to the Hastings fans: liked the "sacked in the morning" chant at 2-2 and "we are Ryman league". I'll ignore the "boyfriend" stuff, which must have seemed terribly witty and original.

Anyone know what the official attendance was ?

Read somewhere that it was around 1300ish...
Been going to Hastings games since I was about 6, so was great to see so many up there and hopefully the cash made will help out.

Most Hastings supporters I know extremely happy with the result, but I realise that it was BHA 1st XI 2-0 Hastings followed by BHA Res/Trialists 0-3 Hastings, however a good day for us at the Pilot Field and I hope these games become a more regular thing!

Game was enjoyable generally, although two odd things happened:

1) During first half Hastings fans nearby kept making comments about Casper having a lovely ass when he bent over, but then started gay chants. Did seem a little odd to say the least.

2) My Dad and I being accosted for supporting Brighton and not Hastings, despite my Dad living there. Given my Dad's supported the Albion since he was a kid, and didn't move to Hastings till he was in his 20s/30s, it did seem strange that he should be expected to change his team just because he moved.

Being from Hastings, yesterday was a cracking day. Fantastic atmosphere when Hastings got the winner and some brilliant chants. Though, Albion take the biscuit with the 'You burnt your own pier' chant, which was top class.

I don't take anything away from yesterday apart from the concern that the youth players (aside from Balmy and Barker) lost 3-0 to a Ryman League side. That's the only thing you can take from a meaningless pre-season friendly where the most important thing is not getting injured (hence Calderon's heated moment).
