But our good players were winning?

Albion: (4-2-3-1) Ankergren (Kuszczak, 45)*(GK); Calderon, Greer (Jones, 60), Dunk (Javier Morales, 60), Bruno (Akinube, 60); Harley (Oatway Jnr, 60), Sparrow (Richards, 60), LuaLua (Barker, 45), Vicente (Balmy, 45), Agdestein (March); Barnes (Dickenson, 60).

I am being very serious.

Turkey is obviously right to sound a cautionary note about young Jeremy Balmy but if Gus is hopeful of signing him in Spain next week as suggested by Andy Naylor it seems he will at least go there along with perhaps one or two others of the DS. It looks like Rodgers and Sampayo will be joining Toby in Spain at very least.

My pleasure, I'm sure your new keeper will soon adapt to playing behind your back 4,chin up, onwards and upwards ! :)
The back 4 for the last half hour when we conceded 3 goals was a combination of development players and trialists not Bridge , ElAbd , Greer , Bruno plus another 6 who are competing for those positions.

I was hoping that in these games against fairly lowly opposition I was at least going to get some idea of what Ryan Harley is about. Still no idea. Disappointing game. Upside - Good strop from Calde. Greer threw his first punch of the season, two cracking goals from them and the sun was shining.

Only a friendly like.

Only an unfriendly friendly by the sound of it - I wasn't there.

It was an opportunity for Gus to see how some would respond to a situation where around 8 or 9 of the eleven (many trialists) were pitched into a game where a non league team have their chance for glory and prepared to stick the boot in. So having taken off the vulnerable first team, it is no great surprise that 11 who had never played together before could not quite contain the situation.

Having said that, it sounds like Hastings scored a couple of cracking goals (though perhaps they would not have had the opportunity against an even slightly more balanced Albion side.

The last two Hastings goals were absolute belters but the last of the two happened when a triallist inexplicably passed the ball to a hastings player just outside our own box.

Did Calderon play the whole game?

That's a relief then !!
Bloody useless trialists, your 1st team were doing so well up to half time as well .

Appears there is one decent player though , interest already shown from Arsenal , Spurs , AC Milan , Valencia. Apparently makes Zaha look mediocre by all accounts.

Couple of cracking goes but Kooshark was NOT a happy bunny and stroped off while the others were clapping. Kooshank out! Conceeded infinity percent more goals than either Brez or Anks this season  Balmy looked useful think be a good signing, Barker was very lively and got a goal too.

Trialists clearly playing the Gus/Brighton way but didn't look very good. Probably more they had never played together than anything though.

Ankergren dealt with a couple of crosses for a change
Bruno looked good, not critising him but he seems the luckiest player ever and everytime he makes a mistake it bounces kindly for him! That's got to be partly skill or something.
Dunk and Greer good distribution but thought Greer had a poor game defensively
Calde nearly got in a fight and would have been off in a 'normal' game. Kept getting a lot of space when switched to left
Vicente some sublime passes through legs and runs, but not much final ball or running about (first game back though)
Harley and Sparrow looked solid in middle but was Hastings so we'll see
Agdestein looked good enough to be involved next season and was clearly the main striker
Barnes who I think is great, had a quiet day
LuaLua was absolutely phenomenal! Class above to be honest.

Overall that sounds negative and I'm not normally but think were just a few off days today, maybe few heads on the plane to Spain already.

Hasting's RB was awesome, if anybody should be considered he was not exageration 10 times better than any of the trialists (apart possibly for Balmy while he had 1st team around him) or other Hastings players.
