We have a week booked in Madeira over Easter and so far it appear to be ok, but we are getting a sinking feeling that it may be cancelled.

Probably a better bet rhan a cruise

Oooh! That is why we as a company recommend everyone does a DR test at least twice a year.

In 25 years in the industry I am amazed that companies think they are all hunky dory, and the have a disaster like a CER room get flooded when the air con overflows and as they haven’t tested, or made plans , they crash and burn...or get cowboys to recover their systems at horrendous daily rates!

I know you're old school back-office but, after that, I hope you get the same commission as sales

Massively.......our flights have been reduced to HongKong from London by 50% and connections into China Mainland by 90%. I work in the freight business so all a bit worrying.....we are hoping it comes back to normal by Apr/May time...but taking 3 weeks unpaid leave is not fun

I'm struggling to get something air freighted to Shanghai without paying well over the odds (due to lack of flights) and even if I get the parts shipped out there the road to the final destination is closed due to the virus so I'm sitting tight waiting for things to improve.

That’s correct. Multi-tasking; dishwasher, laundry, some work and reading the relentless weekday NSC posts of Icy Gull and LamieRobertson who are also ‘working’.

The internet seems to be a skivers charter.

I mostly work from home these days. Can I join your skivers club please? :clap2:

Not to bad yet, working in IT infrastructure but the channel vendors saying stocks are getting lower and lead times will increase soon.

We have an office in Beijing and Xi'an, not heard a peep from them in weeks. They're homeworking but I suspect there's a lot of work that's just stalled and their productivity will be way down....

Do you manage to get lay-in’s or do you have to get kids off to school? For us, it depends who’s on ‘breakfast duty’.

I manage a lay in. If you class 07:30 ish as a lay in? No kids to worry about but Mrs M is up at 05:00! :D

The world needs to learn lessons from this but won’t. Coupled with climate change, every business should quickly be reevaluating risk eg few understand their supply network beyond 1 up or down. It’s like Mother Nature has grown tired of its spoilt child and is about to administer a good old fashioned slap!

If we can no longer get Fujian Water so be it!

We had a hand sanitiser installed in the office kitchen today. Terrifying times.

We’ve had hand sanitiser in the office for the last 3 weeks and I would suggest an employer not doing so now, is not protecting its staff!

I can’t grasp the logic in swerving Chinese restaurants, one of our clients had the worst Saturday in years last weekend.

Because the British public is by and large stupid. It’s as simple as that I’m afraid. Look at the ex prats and tourists demanding government intervention. The sense of entitlement was breathtaking. And those idiots on the Cruise ship and their so called adult son too continually bleating on...strewth!
